Well with the recent price cut of the PS3 i've been thinking about the PSP Go's price point

Go is at $249.99 while the PS3 is now at $299.99 (even elites are only $50 more and wii's are the exact same price)

Does anyone else find that EXTREMELY ridiculous? PS3, Grade A quality gaming console...and the Go...a what looks to be a very uncomfortable handheld that teases you by having a PERFECT spot for a second analog stick but kicks you in the face with a start and select button that would work very well up above the analog stick

i just don't see what was wrong with the PSP 3000 (or 2000 for that matter) in the first place...it's an ok handheld that is about $150 ($100 less than the Go) and you could just get a 32gb stick for $50, which is DOUBLE the flash memory in the Go and you still have $50 to spare

i mean they are ALREADY allowing you to download some digital copies of games right now anyway...so what makes digital copies of games on the Go anymore better than on a 3000 or 2000? plus a regular PSP also allows you to have hard copies of your games as well

How do you guys feel?

If you get GT PSP with it, then I wouldn't mind paying the price.

i know!!! it's crazy

i mean people were freakin out about the DSi taking out the GBA slot...but taking out the UMD slot, that's WAY worse because you could actually play GBA games on other things besides a DS....UMD's can only be play on a PSP

The price of a Wii and more than a 360? No. Terrible price. Wii is better than PSP. (I can't beleive I'm saying this) And so is 360.

I'm not even going to pay a penny for a full 3D handheld with 1 thumbstick I learned my lesson with the PSP 3000.

Heh. Remember the rumor that Sony would announce a PSP Go price drop at GAMEScom?

Yeah, they should have done that. No one will buy this crap.

if they do then i'm surprised

sony is a great company...but why do the ALWAYS overprice their stuff the first year...no offense, but they really do

there's no doubt the Go will have to be price cut as well...but i wonder how long it will take them to realize that

In my opinion the price will be justifiable. The large internal memory storage and the possibility of adding more memory through memory sticks is pretty amazing. For $199 you get the PSP 3000 along with a 1GB memory stick. For $50 more you get 15GB more memory along with the possibility to add more memory. You have the oppurtunity to buy PSP Mini games. And down the line EVERY PSP game will be available. Although I hate to admit it but I think most people out there dont care about value so it might not sell as well as Sony anticipates. IMO the price is justified, but it may not be to some people. BTW I know people are still whining that there isnt a second analog stick...but think about it, what good would it do, every previous game wouldnt be compatible with it and the PSP is so late in its lifecycle according to Sony that adding a second analog stick wouldnt be smart, as developers would have to change how they develop games for PSP.

change the way they develop games for the PSP? ummm...yea, you just make the right stick look around while the left stick makes you move...it's pretty common sense

and yea past games wouldn't be compatible..but FUTURE games would...thus we could get better FPS's...or better yet more than TWO FPS's (there really isn't that many at all is there?)

Of all things in that price range the 360/Wii/PS3 are all better.

PSP Go is a rip off.

Gamers are spoilt. If you compare what you can do with a PSP to what you can do with a modern smart phone and then compare both's respective prices I'd say you're getting some serious valuefor money here.

Also Amazon's Kindle, an e-reader, is priced at 360 bucks. The PSP will have similar functionality, though for the time being just for comics, and is prices at 250,-

yea...the PSP offers alot

but i still think the $250 price port for the Go is an insult to us all....does sony think they can just spruce up the look, slap a higher price tag on it and make us think that it's superior to the PSP 3000 because "OMG, it's looks new and is way more expensive...it HAS to be batter"

any gamer with the internet can get online and see that the PSP Go took out alot more than it added

PSP 3000 > PSP 2000 >>> PSP 1000 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> PSP Go

I like the fact it lacks a UMD drive. AlthoughI'm not paying 250 for a PSP again let alone a hand held system.

The PSP Go's price is very rediculous, your right, especially when it has less functionallity than the current model. (There is now UMD Slot) They better lower the price.

I don't think it's outrageous, but it's high. I'm sure the price will be reduced after underwhelming sales (see this holiday season). Until then I agree the 300 is a much better deal, specifically if most of the new downloadable games can be played on the 300 model. I just invested $40 in an 8GB memory card instead of a PSP Go.

PS3 Slim $299 with a whole lotmore features orPSP Go $249. Well that is a tough choice PS3 all the way. Unless you are just are one of those people who need the latest and greatest no way it sells well. It will be $199 by the beginning of next year mark my word.

DSi is actually $180...which i think is a great price for it considering it's library of games is quite amazing...especially in the RPG area

No, because it costs almost as much as the PS3. It should be no more than $199 imo.

the wii used is 199,99 new exact same price as psp go ,

the ps3 is only 50 more slim one

the 360 is 50 more to ,

the ps2 -which gets the most of psp games any way , ,

is 99 dollars ,

the dsi which is a complete overhauled ds is 169,99 the lite is 139 ,99 the psp 3000 is 169,99

why on earth would any one in their right mind get a go

the original psp 3000 can download these titles to its not like it an exclusive feature

sony shot them selfs in the foot on this one

and how is it convienent- really, these point cards arent everywhere and

lots of people could just get hard copies cheaper then set prices

also

who wants the hassel of inputing credit card or debit card numbers in the thing

just to buy a game i much rather go to a store and look my self ,

Should have been $199. I think Sony would have done better with not having the PSP GO, and instead, thrown more towards the existing ones and slashing their prices.

Eh yeah, I think $200 would have been the sweet spot. But sony rarely prices stuff at the sweet spot at launch. I'm sure they're finally making some profit on their hardware at launch and can drop the price within 6 months if they need to.
