I really think Sony's gameplan on having the best technology for a console backfired , the system is $599.99 usd and much more expensive in the european front .i truly believe this will be their main bottleneck this gen .

You're wrong, for the love of heck, just give things time. Gosh!
It'll definetely lose to the DS, not sure if it will lose to the Wii yet. Brand recognition is a powerful force. Just ask anyone who's bought a Ford in the last 30 years.ZebethOrZebes
I don't think it's quite the same situation as a car company. Ford owns many other companies, so in a sense when you buy either a Mazda, Volvo, Jaguar, Lincoln or a Land Rover, part of that is still going to the Ford Motor Company. So I don't think there is much brand relationship in that example.
I reckon the PS3 will lose to the Wii in the end. The little guy is definitely a force to be reckoned with and is proving to be a juggernaut in Japan thus far.

What, you've never heard a pickup truck owner say "I'm a Chevy guy" or "I'm a Ford man"? Brand loyalty exists in every market.[QUOTE="ZebethOrZebes"]It'll definetely lose to the DS, not sure if it will lose to the Wii yet. Brand recognition is a powerful force. But i'm just saying though that with the way the Ford Motor Company is structured, it's not quite the same situation as the self-focused Sony empire. It's like comparing a family to just one man.

I don't think compairing someones loayality to a car company and a major investment like a car, to a video game console. I don't think there is as much brand loyalty as you think with video games, most gamers just want a good system with good games, and something that isnt to expensive. PS3 is expensive and has no good games now, so people don't want it now.[QUOTE="ZebethOrZebes"][QUOTE="-Spock-"][QUOTE="ZebethOrZebes"]It'll definetely lose to the DS, not sure if it will lose to the Wii yet. However, among those people, there are people who will buy a car because of its blue oval or whathaveyou.[QUOTE="ZebethOrZebes"][QUOTE="-Spock-"][QUOTE="ZebethOrZebes"]It'll definetely lose to the DS, not sure if it will lose to the Wii yet. That may be true of Sony's game division, but they're a huge company. And when you're buying a Columbia/Tristar movie, or a BMG record, you're buying a Sony product.[QUOTE="-Spock-"][QUOTE="ZebethOrZebes"][QUOTE="-Spock-"][QUOTE="ZebethOrZebes"]It'll definetely lose to the DS, not sure if it will lose to the Wii yet. Um nooooo you are completely wrong they would need about 10-13 million so you are about 7-10 mill off. Ds has sold about 38 Million that includes the ds lite, and the psp has sold about 24-25 million psp. Do your homework[QUOTE="Kakarot00769"]I really think Sony's gameplan on having the best technology for a console backfired , the system is $599.99 usd and much more expensive in the european front .i truly believe this will be their main bottleneck this gen .
