PSU.com - Official Response to "Faked" Interview Claim.
Contrary to recent claims - we did not fake a recent interview with Valve. This is a wildly preposterous and libellous accusation that is completely unfounded and we treat it extremely seriously.
We have no reason to "fake" an interview and we would urge any proponent of this claim to take a serious, revised and considered look at our list of recent interviews we have conducted with many of the leading games development companies, publishers and industry experts in future before making such a baseless claim. (See link below).
PSU Interviews List
We did not counter this accusation sooner as we felt it frankly ridiculous and was not even worth addressing. However, for the benefit of our readership and to once and for all quash this speculative nonsense that seems to have recently arisen once again we thought it best to issue a brief public statement.
Some Background
The article went up circumventing our editors and normal quality control procedures which was the primary reason for the article containing some certain spelling/grammar issues. The interview was also conducted over the telephone - not by e-mail or in person which meant much of the responses had to be rewritten, leading to some other quality issues which should have been dealt with before this article went live. The authors names were not given at the request of the authors themselves.
We post numerous interviews every week from a wide variety of high profile developers and whilst we fully accept that the article did not meet our usual meticulous standard but the claim that the article is "fake" is a completely false one.
And finally at Valves request we were asked to pull the article, for various unrelated reasons. This was nothing to do with the validity of the article, but we believe it is the right of any company we conduct an interview with to request us to take down an article if it is their wish and we always honour such requests as part of our pledge to honour the wishes of our industry friends/partners.
