PSW Confirms PS3 GTA 4 will have Exclusive Downloadable Content....

In the seemingly never ending devate on which version of GTA 4 is the Superior version (IMO theyre isnt), PSW (which I can only assume means Playstation World) Magazine has thus confirmed that the PS3 version of GTA 4 will INDEED recieve content down the line that 360 will not recieve, however it wont be to the scale of what the 360 exclusive content is. So it could be anywhere from New Weapons and cars, to Mission packs and areas. Who knows, but its nice to see R* throwing the PS3 fanbase a bone. Of course, its from a Playstation magazine, so take it for what you will.

I would wait to hype this, from want it sounds like it may be something like Darth Vader in Soul Calibur 4, it could be seen as a Exclusive Star Wars character for the PS3. I am sure it is just to add difference in the Downloadable content between the two.Chaos_HL21

i cant believe some ppl actually think the ps3 will never receive content as well. ms has not paid for rocksatr to only give dem content and not to ps3, they have paid for content that will only come on their system, ps3 can get its own dlc but it will never be the same content as xbox360

The phrasing seems to imply exclusive DLC for the Playstation 3 as well.

I meant that I know the Content is going to be Mission packs of a large scale and I would like to play that.

OMG I was right and no one f****** believed me! I said both systems would recieve their own individual DLCs but everyone was like "No! That's stupid donwoogie! Why would R* develop different content for the two systems when they could save money and make content available to all systems except the MS paid DLC!?" and so now I take this opportunity to smirk and brag........

On another note, this definately does peak my interest further in Home. The fact that accomplishments could be used for something more tangible than just bragging rights seems like an intersting development. Definately looking forward to the prospect of going into home, heading down to the GTA4 room and meeting some dudes, then jumping straight into a GTA game from that room.

We have no detail on Xbox Live DLC for Grand Theft Auto 4, it'll be on the same scale as other DLC for other freeroamers like Saints Row and Crackdown I suspect. You know, plenty of cars and missions to do.

It was more of a bragging because tonnes of Xbox fanboys were arguing with me saying that, even if content does come out for the PS3 later, it will come to the Xbox 360 too so the Xbox 360 was "the only definitive copy".

And, tbf, MS has paid most of the money just to get a one up on the Sony. The fact is, the last piece of content that is exclusive out of the two has to be released by Q1 2009 so that $50 million has just bought MS a three-quarters of a year headstart on Sony roughly in terms of DLC for GTAIV which is arguably well spent.

According to Playstation World Magazine, Rockstar will in a way aid Sony in launching Accomplishments for the system, Themed spaces for Home and provide exclusive content for the PS3 (although not as large scale as the 360's exclusive content) after the release of the 360's episodes.From_the_N4G_Article

Themed spaces for Home, Accomplishments... those aren't really too big for me. On the 360 i've still yet to download any gamer pics or themes yet. The "not as large a scale as the 360's exclusive content" part still makes the 360 version seem like the definte version to get. If it was as big you could say the two will be "seperate but equal".

You do realize that the content they're talking about will be on PSN Home.

So A) It is exclusive for PS3 B) The majority of the latter MP games will also have support C) This really isn't a big deal.
