The recently reported hack that gets you the unrated material in Manhunt is turning into another hot coffee for Rockstar. The Parent Telivision Council is demanding that the ERSB reinstate the AO rating to all versions of Manhunt 2 based on how they handled the GTA incedent. They have also demanded that all Rockstar and Take Two ratings that are in consideration and pending by the ERSB be suspended. From the article

Immediately suspend all ESRB reviewor consideration of any other software published by Rockstar or Take-Two Interactive. Given the clear pattern of contempt by Rockstar and Take-Two, these firms have breached the trust of the entire video game rating system. In fact, to quote your words from the Grand Theft Auto matter, Rockstar has 'seriously undermined...the credibility and utility' of the ratings system.

Immediately disclose the content that was allegedly removed by Rockstar from Manhunt 2 so that parents can have a clear understanding of exactly what remains on those games which potentially can be accessed by their children.

Oh FFS... Rockstar made edits, which from what I understand are camera and postprocess related, the game passed the ESRB. What's the problem here? What people do with the code afterwards should be irrelevant. Otherwise basically every single game would be rated AO.

While the content in this case is on the disc rather than added by a third party, the code has been. If this somehow leads to mods getting restricted I'm gonna punch someone, probably Jack Thompson. Which btw you can count on is going to issue 407 press releases to anyone even remotely related to the industry. I'm almost expecting to get one.

Considering how incredibly dumb everyone seems to be I actually consider mod-restriction a real possibility. Let's just hope they never find out that mods exist.

Oh FFS... #2. This is getting ridiculous. Now some sort of representative for the mentally ill is attacking the game for painting a stereotyped picture of mentally ill. Asking Rockstar to either recall of modify the game. Then the guy says they don't favor censorship... Holy **** this sensationalist hate bandwagon is ridiculous. Why is everyone so stupid? I fear for the future.

WTF!... They must be taking the piss, or they feel the need to try and justify why they are here. perhaps they "the proffesionals" should consider making a change of carreer! Perhaps rating tv shows for example, considering that there time may be better spent there... Just an Idea!
