I just downloaded the demo for the new James Bond: Quantum Of Solace game on PC and I'm not impressed. It was around 600MB, took five minutes to install. Finally started it up, played it and within two or three minutes, I was finished. I'm not kidding. I ran through a tunnel, shot a few guys in an underground chamber, started to run through tunnels again and then the trailer came up and I went back to the main menu. Why bother releasing a demo if it's so short?

The demo was just horrible. Plain and simply horrible. It was badly optimised, used low resolution textures, and didn't have alot of enemies.

How can anyone get hyped from three minutes of gameplay? It was pretty exciting for that short time, I admit. But wow, what a waste of time.

If it was an at least satisfying time during those few precious minutes, I guess it's living up to its name...

Because it's a demo. Although short, it was enough to show you the basics.

A demo should be at least a level or even half a level. This was like a gameplay trailer.

They could have not given you anything. I love when people come up with these fantasy expectations of what something should be and are ultimately disappointed by something that has no bearing in reality.

Demos are of various lengths and there is no standard to how long they should be.I can't remember the last time I played a demo that was an entire level. Usually it's a section of a level if anything. The best demos are the ones that don't follow the games level structure at all, instead giving you a idea of what the gameplay is like set within a level.

A good example of this is the new Star Wars game. The demo is set with the first level but isn't structured the way the game actually plays out in the full version. This is good because you still have an element of surprise when you actually buy the game, instead of "Oh, I did this already". Unfortunately doing this takes a lot of time and I really wish they'd spent the time better balancing the game, instead of sticking you with incredibly cheap enemy encounters.

I was just expecting the demo to be at least five minutes long, to give me a little taste of the gameplay features, see what the graphics are like, how good the AI is, etc. All you get to do is run through some tunnels, shoot five or six enemies and then it's over. It was too brief, I didn't get to find out much about it at all. At least the demo for the Force Unleashed let you try out most of the abilities and gave you a few different areas to play in.

I agree that the demo was short, but I think that they are trying to keep most of the game under wraps. Remember, although the game has stuff from Casino Royale, it is based on a movie that hasn't been released yet. But yea, it is rather short, but not two minutes, I'd say it took me about 10 minutes to finish. Then again, I like to take my time and look for everything.

It's a pretty decent looking game to be honest. I'll have to download the demo when i get home since i'm at my college atm. Glad they released a PC demo for us to try it because it's definitely one of the PC titles i'm looking at this year. Though i doubt i'd buy it at full price.

Why are you always trying to shut people down with that they didnt have to give anything crap? The man downloaded a demo and didnt get what he expected..he has the right to complain about whatever he wants..especially if he going to purchase the game..Nobody cares about what you think a good demo should be..stay on topic with the TC.

People are getting greedy with demos, cheap asses download demos as if they are full games. I'm sorry if you're upset about the length of it, but you run, you shoot some dudes, that's it.

That's a bad thing for the game, since I'm not interested in the movie at all.

I played the demo earlier today. It was pretty short. Shorter than most demos I've played. But it's pretty decent.

For some reason though it felt similar to CoD4. Not because of the game engine, but some parts carry very similar design.

I just finished playing it, and while it did feel short (through demos aren't supposed to be long anyway), I was pretty impress by this game. Remind me of Nightfire, but with a cover system. I also glad my computer seem to be able to work on it, with it default graphics, through for a next gen game, it look kinda bland and ugly. I probably not going to get it when it comes out, but maybe I get it later for the PC.

Haha, yeah. I timed it once. Takes 1-2 minutes to load and 2-3 minutes to complete. None of these minutes are particularly fantastic. Pretty bog standard really. Or should I say...Bond standard? HAHAHAHAHA!..hAhahh aahhhahha ahhha ha ah. Really most Bond games are rather mediocre. Goldeneye and Everything or Nothing are the only good ones.

I could ask the same about you. Who are you to tell me not to disagree with someone on a forum? It's what forums are for, DISCUSSION. You added nothing to the conversation, yet had the nerve to tell me to stick to the topic, which by the way was completely on topic.
