I just downloaded the demo for the new James Bond: Quantum Of Solace game on PC and I'm not impressed. It was around 600MB, took five minutes to install. Finally started it up, played it and within two or three minutes, I was finished. I'm not kidding. I ran through a tunnel, shot a few guys in an underground chamber, started to run through tunnels again and then the trailer came up and I went back to the main menu. Why bother releasing a demo if it's so short? Alpha-Polaris
to get you hyped... I played it also and I am more hyped for the movie than the game
If it was an at least satisfying time during those few precious minutes, I guess it's living up to its name...
Quantum of Solace, get it? :D

Because it's a demo. Although short, it was enough to show you the basics.heretrix
A demo should be at least a level or even half a level. This was like a gameplay trailer.Alpha-Polaris
They could have not given you anything. I love when people come up with these fantasy expectations of what something should be and are ultimately disappointed by something that has no bearing in reality.
Demos are of various lengths and there is no standard to how long they should be.I can't remember the last time I played a demo that was an entire level. Usually it's a section of a level if anything. The best demos are the ones that don't follow the games level structure at all, instead giving you a idea of what the gameplay is like set within a level.
A good example of this is the new Star Wars game. The demo is set with the first level but isn't structured the way the game actually plays out in the full version. This is good because you still have an element of surprise when you actually buy the game, instead of "Oh, I did this already". Unfortunately doing this takes a lot of time and I really wish they'd spent the time better balancing the game, instead of sticking you with incredibly cheap enemy encounters.

I agree that the demo was short, but I think that they are trying to keep most of the game under wraps. Remember, although the game has stuff from Casino Royale, it is based on a movie that hasn't been released yet. But yea, it is rather short, but not two minutes, I'd say it took me about 10 minutes to finish. Then again, I like to take my time and look for everything.

Why are you always trying to shut people down with that they didnt have to give anything crap? The man downloaded a demo and didnt get what he expected..he has the right to complain about whatever he wants..especially if he going to purchase the game..Nobody cares about what you think a good demo should be..stay on topic with the TC.

That's a bad thing for the game, since I'm not interested in the movie at all.

I could ask the same about you. Who are you to tell me not to disagree with someone on a forum? It's what forums are for, DISCUSSION. You added nothing to the conversation, yet had the nerve to tell me to stick to the topic, which by the way was completely on topic. Please Log In to post.
