Based on what the General says if a game is on 360 not on PS3 it should count. What if Tales of Vesperia being a game not on PS3 in America does it still count for 360? This is a tough question. Please answer.

Like NMH, its exclusive because its only in one region in a language that the vast majority of us dont understand.

IMO, like NMH, if I can't play the game isn't released on more than one system where I can play it, it's exclusive. The existance of the PS3 version doesn't mean anything to me since it''s not available for play.

Just because you don't have direct access to it doesn't make it exclusive, not everyone lives in NA region.

Never said it was not. I meant since you cannot play a localized version here in the US (without importing) doesn't it count for the 360.

That still wouldn't be grounds to make it exclusive:

"Because a lot of people can't play this, let's pretend this game doesn't exist!"

It exists, but that existance is so irrelevant to most of SW that it may as well not exists. When we look to buy ToV, we only have one option, which makes it exclusive IMO.

Not much of a choice to most because it's still not in English. To all but the geekiest of Otaku, this game is unplayable.

That doesn't make it unavailable.

When you have to justify something, then it's most likely not true.

Do you live in Japan? Do you know how to read Japanese? If you were to go to Gamestop or Walmart and look for this game would you only be able to get it only on one console? That is the question.

The ToV experience is completely unavailable. If I need to play with a printed out translation guide and it diminishes from the experience, it's unavailable. I can own a physical copy of the game, but what good will that do for me? None.

To which the answer is known. The point remains that there are people who do know Japanese, are Japanese and living over here or just want the game in Japanese (collectors and what not). Meaning that it is available, and is playable on NA PS3's, meaning the game very much exists.

NP :P

I can understand everybody's point of view, but in System Wars exclusivity seems to always boil down to "is it available on more than one system?" To which this game most definately is.

In this case, I am an North American, so on System Wars, where North America and Europe are the overwhelming majority represented, yeah, it does revolve around me.

none of the other japanese exclusive games that dont get released outside of japan make it on the lists, so I dont see why it would be any different in this situation.

they in no way count as exclusives. A game made here in the states has the chance of never being released in japan, does that make the game nonexistant? No.

Oy vey. There's no fanboysism involved here (I'm a proud PSWii60 owner, thank you very much). It's the same argument I make for NMH. My only agenda is to get games the exclusivity title I feel they deserve. The only threat I feel is of false accusations of people who don't bother looking up my post history before making silly accusations.

I live in Japan and can somewhat understand the language. Does that make it a non-exclusive for me? Does it suddenly go back to being an exclusive when I move back to America?

To put it simply: I believe so. I consider exclusivity to be region-based (though I'm apparently in the minority in this matter).

It should be an exclusive, people trying to negate this are just fooling themselves, not a lot of people have access to this game outside Japan.

If we're going to start counting exclusives "just because they exist", we might as well say that basically every console available until current gen has no exclusives since they do exist in a format that's playable on PC's. :|

Thats great, but the NA and EU gaming population numbers something like 600-700 million people versus the 150 million in Japan.

I don't need to waste my time looking through the post history of people. The fact is this game is on the ps3, doesn't matter if you can read it or not. You try to bend that reality here in sw, and here on sw we call that fanboyism or a derivative of it. Simple as that.

But you are the minority, the thing is that the game is unavailable in 3 of the 4 biggest gaming regions on the planet, and i'm willing to bet that not more than the 5% of the GS users are like you.

IMO it should stay as an exclusive to the 360, to bad because i really wanted to play the game.

What about me. I'm a PS3 owner (US version), and I'm living in Japan and know the language.

Only problem is the game is not exclusive, so when you say something like "it should stay exclusive to the 360" well it just sounds silly.

[QUOTE="kentaro22"][QUOTE="GulliversTravel"][QUOTE="kentaro22"] What about me. I'm a PS3 owner (US version), and I'm living in Japan and know the language.

Thats great, but the NA and EU gaming population numbers something like 600-700 million people versus the 150 million in Japan.

??? So what? The point is that the games is a multiplat, unless you don't want to count people like me, which are a minority.

So what if i was a PS3 owner who doesnt understand Japanese, the only way of playing it would be to buy a 360 and get the version on that:?

IMO, like NMH, if I can't play the game isn't released on more than one system where I can play it, it's exclusive. The existance of the PS3 version doesn't mean anything to me since it''s not available for play.

madsnakehhh

Just because you don't have direct access to it doesn't make it exclusive, not everyone lives in NA region.

So, ToV did reach Europe or Australia?

Did it? You tell me.

doesn't change the fact that the game is on the ps3, the same way symphonia was a multiplat that never made it to america. You may not speak japanese but the game still exists, much like covering the sun with one finger
