I stopped playing gears for 2 reasons. Host advantage and Glitchers. IF epic comes out with this new patch and fixes all this stuff, maybe not host but glitches for sure, i would start playing Gears again. But this is Horse S*** that microsoft is going to force them to charge for the patch. i already paid 60$ for it and 50$ for Live, i refuse to spend more on a patch. Doesn't have to do with it being 2$ or however much so dont' give me that excuse. It's the fact that it's BS you should pay more.

Way to assume and make yourself look like one. I actually have all but 2 achievements in gears and was ranked pretty good before i stopped. That doesn't matter, Gears of War's online achievements are based on time, not skill. Anyone can get 100 headshots or 100 curb-stomps, even if you get one kill of a special type a game, achievements come in time. (btw, I got all my online Achievements in two days of playing, except Seriously, so don't act like I'm a noob here.)

Their not charging for the patch only for the extra maps. Ok and if it is only the maps they are charging for it is still BS. Why when they wanna give something free microsoft makes them charge? When new maps come out thats what everyone wants to play so the people without the maps suffer in looking for games.

im playing FF12, so im on a gears hiatus, ive had ff12 since launch but i keep tossing it aside for other games, i tossed it aside for TP, MP2, WW, KH2, Gears, Crackdown, and im still not done, cuz grindage keeps dropping my attention levels with it( ive put 50 hrs in it already....only at Balfonem! level 41 across the board.) and im probably gonna toss ff12 aside again for Super Paper Mario, lol oh well, ill probably beat ff12 sometime this year.
A little advice. If you can beat the host hands down each time, then think of how you will be with others who are at the same disadvantage as you. And the glitches are currently being worked out. The next "Annex" update should fix a lot of those glitches. We hope.
Where's the question? I see a mini-rant, but no question in sight. About the patch thing, it won't cost money. I don't remember developers ever charging for a patch (which corrects THEIR mistakes) in the history of all PC gaming.
If the question happens to be asking why have I quit playing Gears, then the answer is simple: I got bored of it. The design is lacks complexity, something which I thrive for in my games. I'm a big fan of the objective-based class games (Enemy Territory, Conker, etc.). :)

Host advantage just can't be fixed the way they set up the game. They should fix some of the glitches though. The map glitches, the chainsaw glitch (this one is retarded), weapon sliding (no one really hates this one though), super jump (meh not a huge thing no one complains about it). The roadie run while shooting glitch is gay
