[QUOTE="whoisryanmack"][QUOTE="CajunShooter"][QUOTE="whoisryanmack"][QUOTE="CajunShooter"][QUOTE="MrEpyx"] Does it bother you that you paid $600 for a console that will probably cost $200 less by the time you get to actually play the games Sony promised were going to be uber untouchable next-gen gameplay (MGS, GT5, etc)?

Electronics never stays the same price. If you go out and buy and HDTV today I guarentee in 6 months it will be $500-$600 dollars cheaper than what you paid for it.
You're missing the point
No I don't think I am. I bought the PS3 to not just play the games that are out now but the games in the future. The same reason people buy any kind of electronic.
I think you are, otherwise you wouldn't have used that example.
Your analogy would only be correct ifthe tv you bought was not functional until the price dropped. Of course, that would never happen...
meanwhile his point is that cows hype (and presumably bought systems for) games that won't be released untilafter the price has dropped significantly. Unless you can convince me you bought a ps3 for resistance and motorstorm, you've wasted your money on the multiplats that would have been better experienced on a cheaper system.
Indeed I did buy it for games such as Resistance and Motorstorm as well as Ninja Gaiden Sigma and MLB 07 The Show (which is the best Baseball game out there). And I also enjoyed games such as The Darkness and Rainbow Six Vegas. Yes they are multiplats, but you know what I it doesn't take away the fact that it is a great game.
You can also throw in the fact that I got a PS3 because of free online, Wifi already included, and the fact that it is the cheapest Blu Ray Player. I can say I got my money's worth for purchasing the system when I did.
It is what all early adopters have to deal with when purchasing a system. I mean by your logic why not just purchase the system in 10 years when the price is small and all the games have been released and then just pick them up when the games are cheaper too and play them.
The reason I didn't is because I want to enjoy the good games now and when they come out.
The problem is your logic. You will sit here and tell me that you bought ps3 for the games that are currently available, but we all know those aren't the heavy hitters that Sony touted.
What the ps3 has provided for your money in terms of hardware is meaningless here, the same hardware would be available at a lower price, with the added bonus of a few good reasons to use it.
There just is very little getting around the fact that 600 was too much to pay for a ps3. It's one thing if you're ok with that, but as we're seeing, it will be a much better buy at 500, and not just because it's a lower price.
