when we are considering PC exclusives, what if the game came out for a MAC? is that still considered on the PC or do we consider the MAC a different system and therefore the so called pc exclusive a multiplat?

A Macintosh is a type of apple. They are only marketed as computers, in fact, I made a delicious apple pie yesterday.

because windows OS computers are commonly referd to as PCs
where as Macintosh OS computers have been called macs
it would be silly if they said 'Hi I'm a mac and I'm a window'
the vast majority of the populous that isn't computer savvy will not understand the reference, wich just kinda goes to show the sad state of things
but sence macs arent personal computers. it must kind of suck to have a communal computer, you should consider getting your own personal one

its just that Microsoft popularized the usage of the term.

So basically Apple is calling Windows a PC? Isn't that giving more power to Microsoft? Like, when you think of PC, you don't think of Apple then...[QUOTE="PBSnipes"][QUOTE="lettuceman44"]A Mac isn't a PC, and even Apple shows that. Prove to me otherwise.lettuceman44

So basically Apple is calling Windows a PC? Isn't that giving more power to Microsoft? Like, when you think of PC, you don't think of Apple then...seriously...how can you argue otherwise? "PC" stands for Personal computer. Its not rocket science, a Mac is obviously a personal computer.
Steve Jobs is so arrogant and looks down on the general Windows population that he invented his own commercial calculator: the MACINTOSH. It was code-named project RIP-OFF. The ingenious plan was to steal PC technology, and plant it into a shiny silver box, where the APPLE sign itself costed around $2000. However there was a major flaw in the plan: he could only get his hands on 3 year old hardware. Why? We will never know. Maybe he was too arrogant, and believed in the magic of the APPLE sign - that is that the sign would boost performance of the computer by 400%.
There, I hope people will understand why many consider Macs as different from PC's.

Atually i think the first PC was marketed by Apple. It was after IBM released a PC of their own that it took off, even though the IBM one was less powerful than the Mac.
Why? Because the Mac was a closed platform and IBM's was an open one. IBM released every piece of information about their computer and a lot of people started making their own hardware, thus increasing both the power and popularity of the IBM PC.

[QUOTE="clembo1990"]Macs are irrelevant. Nobody seriously games on a Mac.Stevo_the_gamerThey would if they had this...
oooo nice
i gots the gtx280 myself :D
If somebody would call them "Windows exclusive" it would be wrong. But PC exclusive? Yes. Remember...Macs are just another brand of PCs, hardware wise they're exactly the same, you can even install Windows on them. Apple is nothing more than another PC seller like HP or Dell, they just have additional OS of their own (altough HP also does for their netbooks for example)when we are considering PC exclusives, what if the game came out for a MAC? is that still considered on the PC or do we consider the MAC a different system and therefore the so called pc exclusive a multiplat?
Panther501
Bassicaly saying that it's not PC exclusive anymore because it's also on Mac is like saying any US 360 exclusive isn't exclusive when it appears in Europe (on PAL systems), ie on the same console, just with different region lock.
[QUOTE="clembo1990"]Macs are irrelevant. Nobody seriously games on a Mac.Stevo_the_gamerThey would if they had this...wow..not only released later than PC version, but also a lot more expensive
i state again if this were true why can i install a Mac OS on my pc? You can't install it easily, it requires you to tweak it. Why does Apple have Mac vs PC commercials?because Apple has long history of half-truths and simple flat out lies in their commercials. Put yourself in their position: they have nothing special anymore when it comes to hardware, since they've swithced to Intel they're just another PC brand, exactly the same as Dell, HP, Acer etc. This is pretty problematic when a company has built it's niche and following by constantly yelling how different they are from IBM clones.[QUOTE="shadow_hosi"][QUOTE="lettuceman44"] Macs are computers, but they aren't PCs......lettuceman44
[QUOTE="clembo1990"]Macs are irrelevant. Nobody seriously games on a Mac.Stevo_the_gamerThey would if they had this... way more expensive then the pc version and the mac itself would cost alot more then a pc with a similar specs. and not to mention mac version of games are more expensive and not every game has one pc is the way to go for gaming.

This is why the commercials are hilarious! They are indeed pitting them against themselves (even though everyone knows they mean microsoft).
the term "PC exclusive" shouldn't exist. its the same thing as "console exclusive". The new term should be "windows exclusive" or "mac exclusive". if a game on windows can be played on another OS, it isn't exclusive.SilverChimeraA PC is a Personal Computer. The term "PC exclusive" is valid. PC does not equal "Windows" or "Mac". Its neutral regarding the OS you are using. Since both are interchangeable. Some folks are using Linux and also gaming on them. We can even dual boot if we wish. But they all belong to the PC family.
Macs ARE a PC. Both are running the same core components (i.e hardware) with only a different operating system. It is like saying a game that only comes out for Linux is a linux exclusive. Does that make any sense? Of course not.
Are Sony Viao's and Hewlett Packard laptop's the same platform?
A personal computer is a personal computer, operating system is irrelevant.
I don't know if this has already been said but the only difference between a PC and Mac are the OS and the fact you can update the hardware in your pc and that is not possible with a MAC afak. The hardware in a PC and MAC are the same nothing different there.
A mac is a personal computer the whole mac vs pc thing is just a marketing ploy. Is a laptop computer with linux on it not a PC?
Apple is just trying to distance themselves from Windows based PCs in order to make their PCs seem "special" or "otherly," just like they did with iPods.
A Mac is just a glorified PC, and a iPod is just a glorified MP3 player. Its all about the advertising trying to make people think they're special.
