at least nintendo and microsoft are nice enough to give us rumble to start with WITH the console and not force earlier adopters to cough up 54 more dollars for one feature.
Plus, wiimote and nunchuck both have motion sensing (though nunchucks arent as good as the wiimotes) and wiimote has many other features like IR, speakers, accelerometer and stuff.

^In order: nunchuk, wii mote(with grip thing since it was only one shown) and charge kit.
If anything, wii controllers are the most expensive. The wii mote by itself I believe $25-30 and the nunchuk is like $20.00; the charge kit, which you basically need unless you plan on buying batteries for the rest of your life is $35.00. Plus with how stupid people are, the darn wiimotes get tossed into tvs making the real price a possible $750:lol:
Basically, the D3 is the second most expensive. Or even the least expensive if 360 gets a charge kit. Besides that, Im taking a guess and saying most people own 2-3 controllers at one point in time. So why not just get the new D3?
Wii has motion sensing and the 360 controller is much cheaper.darkplayer
Haha so your saying $4 is much cheaper. 360 is $50 D3 $54...... four bucks less is not "much cheaper"

Its absolutely amazing how many people dont seem to know that rechargeable AA batteries exist, are inexpensive, and are far better than any charge kit. The big fault in the sixaxis/ds3 is the inconvenience of it running out of juice while playing.
^Oh trust me I know about em:P
The thing is, other people dont hence why I always see my friends going"oh noez, my batteries are dead...gotta get new ones". Its a shame really..
What's funny is how far everyone seems to miss the boat, as usual. Sony lied to the public initially about rumble, instead of stating it wouldn't be in the controller becuase of legal issues, they said it was las gen and not needed. After they settled the disopute, they immediatly made the Dual shock 3 and now expect early adopters to pony uup for a feature that should have been in place. Then you guys come up with, it's not that much more expensive It's the principle of the whole deal. Blind devotion FTW...DXGreat1_HGL

Don't forget that the sixaxis/ds3 battery will eventually die out and not take a charge and is irreplacable. I guess Sony then expects peiople to buy new ones then...

So now we HAVE to go out and buy a D3? I mean I always tend to buy an extra controller for friends/just in case so I don't see a big deal with this.
Just thought I'd point out something even though it can basically sum up to Damage control. The 360 has the rrod which once the warranty fades(bummer). It also has a pretty weak controller or at least in MY personal experiences.
For instance: it has its triggers which get loose far too easily and quickly thus ruining many games; It will jam sometimes during shooters making you run out of ammo all the time, which in turn ruins the experience. Or if you have a wired and it gets too tangled, then it wont respond because something is messed up inside of the wires that connect the controller to the system. Also, those cheap little headsets that come with 360s mess up all the time. I replaced those like 3 times.
...Not to mention, the disc drive error which is the way 2 of my 360s died. Im just saying every system has faults so one thing isnt really that big of a deal. The things I mentioned arent exactly refundable, ya know? Although the disc drive error might be in the warranty...although I doubt it.

Funny I can make a similer argument about play and charge kits and the the WiFi adapter. Do I have to buy either if I own rechargeable batteries and use a wired connection?
Fact is, Sony tried to downplay it like it asn't importatant when a lot of people expected it and then snuck it in and noe expect people to buy the new controllers. Why should someone be expected to pay for Sony's oversight?

If according to Sony and you guys rumble is last gen. How long has pc had free p2p online, yet you pay for live gold.
They are both bad, people not to stop acting like Sony is the only company to do this.

How did I buy into it? I didnt exactly have a choice lmao... what am i gonna tell Sony I wont buy their console because it didnt have rumble?
Sony was in a lawsuit with the rumble people, they were being arrogant and acted like they didnt need/want it, then they ended up settling the lawsuit, people wanted rumble, so they gave it to us. It was a mistake and now its being fixed, Microsoft doesnt even fix their mistakes, they give a warranty and once it runs out everyone's screwed.

oh crap!! i missed the memo sony sent us PS3 usrs on our ps3's about them forcing us to buy the controler!! crap crap crap am i going to get fired? :(
The price is justified, imo.
The thing which ticks me off is how quickly Sony changed its position from "Rumble is last gen" to "Rumble is great". I realise its all marketing spin and everyone does it , but still, it does make a little angry.
 @ making cows pay for last gen technology.
MortalDecay
 @ making lemmings pay for P2P internet service
I know it ain't happening but it would be cool if Sony offered a deal where you could send in your old Sixaxis controller to them. Then they send you back a coupon that allows you to buy the Duelshock3 controller for a more reasonable price. Like $29.99 to $39.99 or something. That I think would be a fair deal for those of us who bought our PS3 before the DS3 happened so we aren't stuck paying full price for something that shoulda been there from the beginning in my opinion. CAlNlAC
Yeah and it would be great if you could return your Arcade 360 back to mS and get one back with a 100GB HDD, HDMI, and a wireless internet adapter.
The dualshock should be $29.99 anything above that is a ripoff.
BenGenio
 And the unreliable, rushed hardware in the 360 should be $50, all its worth.

Yes sony expects you to buy new ones when the battery dies...
But a Sony spokesperson told GI.biz, "This is a purely speculative story and is largely untrue. The latest generation of Lithium Polymer batteries hardly suffer any memory effect at all, so it'll be many years before there's any degradation in terms of battery performance."
The spokesperson went on to confirm, "When and if this happens, then of course we will be providing a service to exchange these items."
Why is everyone saying this is an overpriced controller? The Wii remote with Nunchuck is $60 the doesn't come with rechargeable batteries. 360 controller is $50 and doesn't come with rechargeable batteries. Yet the DUALSHOCK 3 is $54 and comes with an internal rechargeable battery and it is overpriced? YEAH it's an outrage that Sony is ripping us off once again!!!!!spursguy21
Who pays 50 dollars for a 360 controller? They are always on sale somewhere for 30-40.
ohh poor fanboys always looking for something to bash the PS3/Sony :)
Guess charging controllers with AA batteries is really next-gen right ??? :)
*sigh* Lemmings are once again on the offensive, ready to attack the PS3 yet again.
I frankly don't see what's the big deal with the Dualshock prices. If you don't want a D3, then DON'T BUY ONE. It won't make theSix Axis obsolete. You buy games that are pretty expensive and yet there's so much complaining about the controllers. Good grief, people should be HAPPY thatSony brought back rumble, not whine about it constantly. I'm glad they brought it back because it was a nice addition. It doesn't mean that Sony lied to the public or something. -__-
Fanboy nit picking at it's finest. Ignore them. If we can afford expensive TV's. Next gen Consoles. 60 dollar games. And all other sorts of accessories then a 55 dollar controller is no problem. I'll pay 5 bucks and enjoy the savings on the need for batteries and or additional cost recharchables.
Just that Sony is gettin all this good press with GT5P and MGS4 so they need to bash it somehow.

oh right..only 360 owners.
Who has to get their consoles repaired for RROD?
Yup you guessed it.
But hey at least you save 10-20 bucks on that controller. Until you pay for batteries or a rechargerable option. (Which can be 14-30 bucks depending on if you want the crappy one or the good one.)
