Well, let's see... FFXI was an MMORPG, so it's nothing like the rest of the series. FFXII was nominated for Game of the Year. Yep, all crap! They should just take Lost Odyssey and change it to Final Odyssey, and then call FFXIII "The Game Formerly Known as Final Fantasy." Or just give it a symbol.QuasidodoJr

Final Fantasy changes every new installment...with bigger changes in the last two FF's. I can somewhat agree with that statement.

And yet Final Fantasy has always been based on change, it's a fundamental part of it's design. So change being found in all these Final Fnatasy titles, includng FFXIII is just part of what makes Final Fantasy what it is.

Having said that I don't agree at all with the statement, anyone who blantantly says that statement doesn't understand Final Fantasy. Even the second of the series was a departure from the first, the trend goes back to it's inception.

I also heard alot of people claim that Blue dragon would be the FF killer and look at how it turned out. If I recall its previews werent to promising. As for what people talk about, FFXII sold very well and got a great score. As for FF 11 it really wasnt a true FF.

I was about to say damn another Itagaki.

But since you saw "someone" say it, its really not that big of a deal. Just a lemming trying to compensate for the lack of a Final Fantasy.

No and Yes. Beginning with FFX, I for one have not enjoyed the series much at all, but LO does not look to be at all enjoyable either. I am particularly unimpressed and turned off by the art style and story thus far, plus that last demo featuring the combat was extremely boring.

Wasn't Blue Dragon supposed to be the FF killer?

Final Fantasy XIII will be amazing...its SE flesh and blood...w/o FF SE is nothing...they will not **** up....just look at how long it took them to realease FFXII...

Lost Odyssey from what I've seen is just another RPG...i expect a 7.5 on GS...the game will be nowhere near Final Fantasy XIII....

...call me a fanboy if you want but think about it...a studio with 20+ years of experience creating their biggest game or a studio that published a flop and mainly works for the money

I'll agree, but I'll qualify the statement with two ifs:

1) IF you agree that the Final Fantasy series was defined by Sakaguchi and Uematsu, then yes.

2) IF Lost Odyssey turns out to be a quality game, in the spirit of the older Final Fantasies (which weren't quite as interested in being "different" every game so much as being full of the best production values in every department).

I'm extremely excited about this game. SquareEnix definitely still has the ability to make stellar RPGs, but Uematsu is my all-time favorite game composer, and Sakaguchi is the father of one of my 2 or 3 dearest franchises.

FFXI was a true FF game only that it can't be compared to other FF games because of it being a different genre,but besides that FFXI was my favorit MMO even through i had quite it almost a year ago i'll always remember it,also has the best storyline compared to anyother MMO.
