"No 90 Minute MGS4 Cutscene"

A rumor was flying around the internet that MGS4 would have 90 minute cut-scenes. Well a Gamepro editor says this rumor is false.

"I've beat the game twice, and am the author of the forthcoming [GamePro] review," Shuman said. "Ninety-minute-long cinemas in MGS4 sounds like an exaggeration. Like the other MGS games, MGS4 definitely has a cinematic quality. And yes, some of the cut-scenes in the game are elaborate and occasionally lengthy. But not a one, to my recollection, even approaches 90 minutes."

Oh, ok, lol. Good news, to say the least. I was was in complete disbelief and was losing my excitement for the game more and more by the minute. Glad to hear that it was complete BS.

I know what you mean, when i posted in that thread about how mgs4 is being turned into a movie more than a game, some cows really started going crazy saying how this was a great idea and how it adds to the story

it is excessive, no doubt. im a huge mgs fan and would watch all the cutscenes anyway, although im sure id be a bit perturbed that Kojima couldnt find a way to split up the cutscene if it was actually 90 mins. wish this thing could be put to rest now.

And from a pure gaming perspective, 90 consecutive minutes of static movie in a product that is supposed to--by definition--be interactive borders on false advertising.

Glad Kojima knows better. We buy games to play them. To to watch them for 90 minutes. Glad he's doing it right...the way he did it in MGS2 and 3.
