"Sony Studio Liverpool Working on Large AAA PS3/Vita Game"

E3 might have been a little light on Vita reveals, but that doesn?t mean there aren?t some big unannounced games in the works. Now, PSLS has uncovered that SCE Studio Liverpool is working on a ?large AAA? PS3 and Vita game.

In a new job listing, Sony is hiring for ?an as yet unannounced PS3/Vita? project in development ?at SCEE Liverpool Studio?. The listing doesn?t reveal much about the title, other than that experience of ?titles set in complex 3D environments is a must?, as is development experience ?on at least one large AAA project?.

Considering that Studio Liverpool has only ever developed Formula One and WipEout games since joining Sony, and that Sony dropped the Formula One license in 2007, it?s likely that the game is another WipEout title. But considering the studio is SCEE?s second largest, and was working on multiple projects in 2010 before they were ceased ?due to project prioritization?, there?s always a chance that the studio is doing something different. Deep Space anyone?

Interesting. I doubt it's another Wipeot game - Wipeout just released for the Vita and has never been a "AAA" franchise (?). Hopefully it's something original.

The article is wrong. They may have only done WipEout since dropping the Psygnosis name, but they've been part of Sony since IIRC 1994 and have done quite a few other things during that timeframe.

I can't understand how Wipeout is not an AAA franchise, that's probably the most underrated game here. The only explanation is that it's just too hardcore for reviewers so they feel frustrated but it's one of the most challenging, fun and well made games this gen.kuraimen

Because PS3 and Vita have alien standards. Wipeout on PC would be AAA and on 360 would be AAAA ;)

Now on a serious note. A game doesnt need to be AAA to be great. Some of my favourite games this gen are A or AA.

people complaining about Vita games LULZ there were a ton of Vita games on the show floor. you can't expect Sony to show ALL their games during the press conference. it's not like they're M$ who doesn't have any games apart from the ones in the conference and showing off a game two E3s in a row. there were so many games missing for the PS3 and Vita during the conference. on PS3 alone, there's no Yakuza 5, Ni No Kuni, One Piece Pirate Warriors, Talex of Xillia 2, Atelier Ayesha, etc.

Vita didn't show Gravity Rush, Soul Sacrifice, Ragnarok Oddyssey, Retro City Rampage, New Little King's Story, the new Oddworld game, Snapshot, Silent Hill Book of Memories, Sine Mora, Jet Set Radio, plus all the other PS All Stars Battle Royale, LBP Racing, MGS Collection, etc.

The only way that hes telling the truth anyway is if hes talking about the number of games Nintendo developed this gen. They didn't come anywhere close to 80 actually new franchises, etc. which is what SPYDER was talking about.

Since it's probably not WipeOut then hopefully its not another of the countless Formula 1 games they've made over the years. I myself would like to see them work on some old Psygnosis titles that I used to love from the original PlayStation, maybe another Colony Wars or G-Police title, I bet they could do quite a bit on with either on a modern console.lamprey263

Pretty much can guarantee you it's not a F1 game since they haven't had the license since 2007 and there haven't been any rumors (that I've seen at least) of them getting it again.
