Give me a break! What is with all this whining and complaining about Nintendo abandoning hardcore gamers after that admittably horrendous showing at this year's E3? I find it hilarious that people like this subrosian characterwhose bashed the Wii from the very beginning are acting like they were the ultimate loyal sheep that just had received the ultimate betrayal. I say, throw your little tantrum, good-bye, and don't let the door hit you where the good Lord split you. Just because they introduced the (non)game Wii Fit, doesn't mean you have to buy that crap. I don't understand why people are acting as if they've suddenly cancelled SMG, SSBB, MP3, and etc., in favor of only putting WiiFit-type software on the market. They're still going to have games, folks. C'mon! Why shouldn'tNintendo market to casuals; you know, the people who are helping them out of their two generation slump on the console market? I mean, wasn't it the hardcores (except for ultra-loyal sheep) that have derided them for their inferior hardware and etc. and pretty much dismissed the Wii from the get-go?

When did Nintendo ever put out a hardcore system? SNES had Mortal Kombat without blood, if you'll recall. Made a bunch of kids buy a Genesis just so they could see blood. I wasn't one of them. Really, I wasn't.

How can someone "sell you out," if you were never with them in the first place? Btw, what about RE4 Wii and Umbrella Chronicles? If I'm not mistaken, those games have blood and gore.

No more heroes and Manhunt to have blood and gore as well.

2 games don't make it right, the issue isn't the availability of blood/gore,it's the availability of content aimed at a mature audience.

Well honestly, still there is nothing to complain about, if your looking for blood and gore and wii isn't the system for it you have 2 options PS3 or X360 complaing isn't one of them. And if you're planing on owning only one system imo thats a bad move anyway. Also, it's funny how ppl forget about No More Heroes and MANHUNT 2...

Online multiplayer. I actually know of some clans from Europe that hold Mario Strikers tournaments.

I'm sorry, but I'm failing to see your point. I was debunking the argument that the Wii has absolutely no games with blood and gore in them. I really don't see how it's "wrong" to have games that don't entail massive gore fests. Btw, wasn't Nintendo always seen as a "kiddie" system, anyway? What exactly are they betraying if they've never been "mature" to begin with?

Criticizing a console=/= complaining about it. I want Nintendo to make more content aimed at a more mature audience, that's all.For every Manhunt, there's 20 other games aimed at a younger audience. For every Loco Roco, there's 20 other games aimed at a mature audience. I hope you see the difference.

Mariokart SNES wasaccessible and beloved to all, and nevertheless was a hardcore game. There were many nuances and intense challenges to that game.

You don't get it. Nintendo didn't talk about much/shunned ALL the games you listed that casualls enjoyed. THIS is the new direction they're taking. WiiFIT and soccer moms. They keep telling us at conferences "if you're looking for___, you came to the wrong place." Always trying to re-design what we think games are. They feed the hardcore just enough to keep them with them. Heck, where montages of those games were supposed to be, they filled it with information on their sales and who they're going after, and interviewing seniors. As if we cared or something. Nintendo is just trying to make money now. And thet'll step on one loyal market just to reach the next.

Oh, shock and horror, a business is actually trying to make a profit! :o Shame on them! :x The only way to make amends is to appeal to "hardcore" gamers that think they're too kiddie and never really supported them to begin with and have their console fail for a third generation in a row.

No one supported them before? :|

You've spent too much time in SW. That "everyone thinks they're kiddy" stuff is pure BS. They can do what they want to turn a profit (including selling the console at a profit to begin with :|) but alot of people aren't going to support them in this. I wonder how much money they can make off of soccer moms and seniors...
