[QUOTE="Plagueless"] Id hasnt made a really good game in 12 years so..... Doom 3 was just a pretty Doom 1. It was mediocre in 2004, especially after Halo 2 launched.JigglyWiggly_
Yeah, you never played Doom and/or Doom 3 did you?
I wasn't too huge fan of doom 3, however there was a coop mod which made it very fun. That game felt like it was made for coop after getting that. About people making cod references, while I do like COD, I only like the good ones: Cod1,2,4, and just a tad drop of mw2, none of the treyarch ones. But I only playe S&D with gud people, TDM and all the other gametypes are jokes.I am not comparign Rage to COD btw gaiz. It just doesn't seem that fun. Vehicle sections lookpretty stale, they should just team up with codemasters and put dirt3 physics and you have aweosme driving parts. Then shooting seems a bit stale too, just doesn't have the quake3 fastness or a gunfeel of KF.
Totally wasn't referring to you there! Yeah, I'm certain you knew that I wasn't, but I had to throw that out there.
I can see why people didn't dig Doom 3 but I agree to disagree. RAGE looks like it's plenty fun to me, but it's definitely one of those games that needs to be in our hands before we can really give it any kind of justice.
New IP? Check! - New Engine? Check!
Yeah, the game seems 100% new and built from the ground up and that's going to throw a lot of debate around since.. well, uh.. we don't know! That being said, I'm totally stoked for RAGE (huge Carmack fan, I won't deny that), but I can see why some people like and I can even see why some people are "iffy" so to speak.
For me? Yeah, it's a day one buy and I cannot wait to get my hands on it (PC version, of course).
