Rage (PC) vs. Crysis 2 (PC)

Given the serious props Rage is getting in the graphics department, I have to wonder how it'll stack up to the sequel to the one game that has pwned everything else in graphics thus far, this gen.

I'm leaning more toward Rage at this point. I am not a fan of what Crytek has done with regard to the levels and settings of Crysis 2, I personally dislike the overall look for the most part, at least of what I have seen so far. I want me some jungles. :(

Crysis 2.DEFINITELY.Did you see 3D trailer?Thats Crysis 2 in real time on PC ;) Although RAGE is serious looker,even on consoles its marvelous.

I think in the end,when its all set and done and when Crysis 2 is finished and polished its going to be totally dominant when it comes to graphics.It will crush Crysis 1.

Yea i think that,while RAGE looks great baked textures and lighting cant really surpass Crysis 2 on highest...

Doesn't change the fact that a good part of the game will be taking place in the city. None of you are going to change my mind about this, I simply prefer the jungles. :P

I'm going to mod Crysis 2 to hell and back too probably. If Crysis 1 is any indication, the overall texture quality won't quite be up to par.

The problem with RAGE is that everything is pretty much baked in, which means you can't really improve the overall graphics with a few tweaks like you could in Crysis. You also can't make texture mods, unless people want to start releasing 25GB files on the internet.

I'm just guessing here, though. It could be different in the end.

I think that RAGE will look a lot better when we can actually play it. I'm not sure about Crysis 2 however.

It'll be interesting. Rage is all about baking tremendous detail into the megatextures, while Crysis is all about doing things in real-time and throwing in every possible technique in the book.
