1. Gears of War 3
2. Mass Effect 3
3. Uncharted 3
4. Dead Space 3

1. Gears of War 3: Great gunplay. Shitload of modes and content. It's just good fun. The DLC was the shizzle, too.
2. Uncharted 3: Still more Uncharted, but not as good as UC2. Just shoved puzzles in there because why not. Not worth it.
3. Mass Effect 3: Shitty ending aside, I had a good time with the rest of the game
4. Dead Space 3: At the bottom because I don't care much about the franchise. Having said that, I enjoyed it. Ending just dragged on.
I still need to go through UC3 again in the HD collection, so who knows. Been enjoying it though. Uncharted is fun.
It's kind of funny in reflection, these are all trilogies in which the 2nd games are all widely regarded as being the best in the series... well Gears might be debatable but surely for all the others.
I haven't played Gears of War 3 but im willing to bet that is far better than DS3 so, 1- Uncharted 3, 2- Mass Effect 3, 3- Gears of War 3 and lastly 4 -Dead Space 3. Although i loved the second game.
I didn't play ME3 and Uncharted 3 but I really enjoyed Gears of War 3, it was possibly the best one in the series. As regards Dead Space 3, I was really pleasantly surprised until 3/4 of the game which is where the game dragged on and became uninteresting towards the end. Oh and microtransactions forced me to wait for resources on several occasions and there were some really difficult moments in which you didn't get the item drops you really needed for the most basic stuff like medkits so you had to wait even more. Thus I think microtransactions were criticized for all the good reasons.
From the whole series, I rate DS1 the best, though. It was the most difficult and challenging one.
I've only played Dead Space 3 from that list and it was extremely disappointing in almost every way, especially when it's considered as a follow up to the awesome Dead Space 2. The only really good thing in the game was the weapon crafting and even then, it didn't get really good until the second play through. Everything else in the game felt incredibly mediocre (except for the graphics, which were stellar as always).
Four generic third person shooters. That's a tough call.
1. Gears 3. Gears of War has always been the gold standard for this kind of game. I think these kinds of games are utterly devoid of creativity, but at least Gears is the most mechanically sound.
2. Dead Space 3. Dead Space 3 is a piece of shit. It molests you with micro-transactions and has all but forgotten that it used to be a horror game. It is, however, very intense and fun if you can ignore its truly horrific crimes against gaming.
3. Uncharted 3. Nathan Drake is one of the biggest douchebags in video games. He's an unlikable, smug piece of shit. I hate him and I hope he dies in every game he's in. Uncharted games are clunky shooters with braindead platforming. They are for stupid people. Yes, I am saying this in no unclear terms: If Uncharted is one of your favorite games, you're probably a big dummy.
4. Mass Effect 3. The first Mass Effect was a goddamn fantastic RPG. It was really, really good. Most people didn't have the patience to overcome its learning curve, which is too bad, because like I said, the game was really really good. It had a mysterious and expertly paced story with one of my favorite RPG combat systems. Mass Effect 2 turned that into a badly written shooter. Mass Effect 3 further reduced it to a shitty, clunky, boring badly written shooter. I put it behind Uncharted because of how terrible the fall from grace was. Mass Effect 3 was a personal betrayal.
1) Mass Effect 3
2) Gears 3
3) Uncharted 3
Mass Effect 3 is the only game here I liked, despite the ending. Gears 3 was more of the same, and Uncharted 3 is shit.
I thought you said Gears 3's SP was mundane, needed more of Gears 2 setpieces.
I thought you said Gears 3's SP was mundane, needed more of Gears 2 setpieces.
Was I only ranking campaigns? Because gears 3 is strictly there because I like the multiplayer lol.
But yeah I actually like Gears 1 and 2's campaign more, not necessarily needs Gears 2's set pieces. Because Gears 2 at times was too gimmicky, but there was more flavor to its high points. Gears 3's second half has these dull stretches like working for Ice-T, getting parts for a sub, fighting the lambent was actually irritating, and the berserker/queen fights were just giant sponges with nothing to them. The core mechanics in Gears are good, but the action just got exhausting, monotonous, and it could have used some new tricks up its sleeve.
The multiplayer? Tons of fun, would gladly play more of that. Doo-doo ass sawed off and all.
None of them are "Crap".

You hate the sawed off? What so are you like a wallbouncing Gnasher enthusiast who active reloads his shotty pre-match?

No I can be pretty lousy at that aspect of Gears, but I respect it more. The gnasher dance is what separates good players from bad players at Gears of War. Do I like that all of that game is played up close? not necessarily I like to play my shooters from a distance, but that's not the game gears is. It's a perfectly viable thing to build your game around that and it is a skillful form of play for such simple mechanics. Navigation becomes an art form in that game, the active reload is a big part of the enjoyment in Gears shooting, and best shot gun wins.
Sawed off hurts that, you can blind fire like nothing, and you rarely had to aim. It completely fucks that up. Retro lancer wasn't any better for that as with the regular lancer you had to at least aim. I'm not the biggest fan of Gears 1 or 2's mp, because they were busted, but Gears 3 fixed that aspect while taking away something it didn't need to. I also think the Boom Shot should be more like the way it was when Gears 1 launched as opposed to the boom shot they had in Gears 2 and 3, and I think post patch in Gears 1.

Sounds like you want a Gears that's fairly split between the Gnasher and rifles (Lancer/Hammerburst). That'll never happen, gnasher crazies are hellbent on making Gears a one gun game forever. It still has an amazing multiplayer but the Gnasher should really be useless outside of close range to promote more Rifle/tactical play.

No different than the Halo fanbase wanting Halo to be nothing but BR battles lol.
Annoying thing about sequels to mp games, you're damned if you do, and damned if you don't.
Mass Effect 3
Uncharted 3
Huge step down to Dead Space 3
Never played a Gears game
Mass Effect 3 is an all-time great despite the poor ending.
Mass Effect 3 (multiplayer saved it. the only good aspect of the game...)
Gears 3
Dead Space 3
UC3 (what a mediocre game. Worst than the original)

I could've sworn you said Gears was your favourite Microsoft IP, you've never played them?
@silversix_: lol but me3 multiplayer is just a really bad gears horde mode.
Except its not. In gears there's nothing else but couple of weapons and that's it. In ME3 there's your class abilities, waaaaaay more weapons and variety in general. Horde Mode was good in gears 2 and 3 but nowhere near ME3 multi. Having access to a bunch of space magic+weapons is automatically better than having nothing else but weapons aka Gears.
@silversix_: uh, you get upgradable weapon placements. Me3 doesn't have any of that. Plus the shooting mechanics in gears are sooooo much better than ME3. I also prefer shooting the enemies in gears and found them more challenging.
Not to mention the other cool mode where you play as attacking locusts which is equally awesome.

well, that's, like, just an opinion, guy. btw there was an upgrade system in ME3. There was also a build system, something that's not present in Gears at all. Shooting felt smoother in Gears but that space magic in combination of decent shooting is still superior to 'smoother/better' shooting mechanics Gears has.

yep, you also have upgrade-able barriers and decoys. me thinks silversix is talking out of his ass again. ME3 multiplayer was good though
and how the hell is upgrading barriers any fun? In gears 4 you'll be able to upgrade walls, are you excited for that? lol... Build system with tones of different classes and space magic>Gears, the game where you can upgrade barriers.
@cinematicgalore: I watched all 3 of them(Judgement doesn't count) on YouTube. I guess you could say they are fairly cinematic. ;)
@silversix_: the movement, shooting and cover system are so much better and smoother in gears though. Also, being able to set up and upgrade defenses is fun. The space magic and upgrading are cool but kind of pointless when the game play is barely mediocre
@cinematicgalore: only played ME3, loved it.
No interest in Uncharted i don't like linear sequence heavy action games and the other two games i haven't played.
Am i missing out?
From those, I've only played Dead Space 3, and that game should probably be in the bottom. Breaks my heart, cause Dead Space 1 was fucking awesome. I thought of it as the new Resident Evil. Dead Space 2 was pretty cool, but they went too far from the awesome atmosphere of the first and made it more action-y. Dead Space 3 was basically only action. Boring.
@sts106mat: lol you think gears invented wave based multiplayer survival multiplayer? LOOOOL
did i say that? no, i said it invented horde mode, which it did.
maybe next time chump.
ME3 multiplayer = horde mode. deal with it
why are you keep saying 'deal with it' when there's nothing to do even deal with. Am i supposed to be impressed with Gears Horde Mode because it came out before ME3's multi or something? Like wtf are you trying to say here? Shooting felt better in Gears, that's the only edge it has over ME3's multiplayer. Everything else was better done in ME3's Horde Mode.
