360>>PSN>>Wii
Just look at what Halo 3 allows you to do. You can que downloads from your computer to download 3D videos, game variants, maps, pictures, it counts all your stats, etc. It's amazing how far video games have come.
1. PSN - Simple. sleek design, and have less latency issues than XBL and Xfire. Latency is the key factor for me.
2. PC - The father of online gaming. Too bad most games on PC are not my kind of games.
3. XBL - Great service. Lots of bells and whistles to show off to your friends. Latency isan issue. Paying for it is a downside.
4. Wii - enough said

wrong. PSN owns all.
not until it matches the features of xbox live....
btw; is it true you get charged $10 to play Tekken online? heard that yesterday and was wondering...

Tango got it far wrong saying 360 beats PC, but PSN store is far too slow, from its interface. to download speeds. It also is set up really strangely, and it is still rather bare in terms of content.

i don't think i did. I've had more fun using xbox live than i EVER did trying to use my pc for online....
then again, i'm sure technology has come a long way since i've tried, but i don't want to spend the time to learn it, when i can play online with a simple push of one button.
ease of use and features....that's why i think xbox live trumps pc online...

It's easy, but better overall?
Well adminned dedicated servers + xfire + steam beat anything XBL throws at it.

Xfire, Steam and ironically, XBL can be used on PC for free and provide the exact same service. The former two have userbases which rival the unit sales of the 360 themselves.
There's really no way justifying the XBL experience as superior, especially given it's $50 fee and diminished features compared to a PC.

it's important to remember pc gaming and console gaming are not the same.
i love splitscreen play online as well. I can't do that w/ my pc as none of my pc games support splitscreen. (older games)
the dedicated server thing isn't really a benefit, as even PSN uses dedicated servers and are crashing, and losing player's stats. I don't see the benefit of a dedicated server when this happens.
"better overall" is up to the consumer. I think xbox live is better overall, becuase of it's ease of use... and features...

i haven't seen one secured service that offers everything xbox live does...
what diminished features? it has all the features i need and want in an online gameing service...w/o the cheaters, hackers and mods that are found in pc gaming communities...
PSN=360>wii
Paying for peer to peer is the biggest ripoff ever which is what MS does. But live is more user friendly. PSN has real servers for some games making those games perform better than anything on live. But live has online in more games and standard voie chat.
Its a tie right now for me but when psn gets cross game invites and ingame chat it will own live.
it's important to remember pc gaming and console gaming are not the same.

Dedicated servers is a very good thing, your idea of dedicated servers is based on what you've seen from the PSN, but PSN is crap. High quality dedicated servers allows games such as BF2142, BF2 CS:S and many more to host a great many players without the restraints that XBL has. Not to forget that the pc offers a form of online gameplay which makes it popular without very little advertising.

Obviously XBL has no provisions for mods and user created content, nor can it match the scale of game that the PC can. The KB/M also demand a deeper (think strategy genre) standard of play, as well as a more competitive one (the mouse is much more deadly than the controller).
And yeah, PC online does have cheaters and hackers, but there are so many ways of dealing with those issues it's become basically an abstract annoyance. Those things can still be found on XBL, though admittedly a centralized system is better at banning them.

it's just a matter of time before they offer user created content. Forza is one example that almost touches on that.
like i said, i like to have my friends join me online on the same tv/360, for some splitscreen online play. I would hate to try to cram my friends around my tiny pc monitor for that..
it's apparent you love your pc gaming online, i'm just saying from a consumer standpoint, xbox live is more attractive.
about 50% of 360 owners are using xbox live and are paying for it. they must see thevalue there somewhere.
I've never read a percentage that high for pc gaming online. Remembering that there are about a billion (exaggerated) pc in existence....
pc and console gaming are different....really...

They won't offer user created content for free. This is microsoft we are speaking off.
Neve read percentages about pc gaming, because quite honestly they don't exist. What we do have is numbers, numbers that show xbox live loses against pc.
I'm off to play some more Quake Wars, but just google "steam users" or World of Warcraft or Xfire and you'll see how big pc gaming online really is.
#1 PC(free more players)
#2 PSN(it's alot like PC online free but less players)
#3 Xbox Live(Sure it's got Halo but $50 a year is a joke for Online after your paying for Broadband/console/games)
#4 Nintendo
DC is extinct there online is horrible since it doesn't exist anymore.

Unless your blind it doesn't take much to learn PSN does everything XBL does but free the only differance is the games you play, thats not the topic though. the topic is wich online is betetr, and free is always better. Xbox doesn't really do anything differant for the XBL fee, it's like there just charging you for a User name, and doesn't it kinda suck to always have the same USer name? atleast oon PC and PSN you can alays have multiple names. Wich means your lil Brother can play on your system and not ruin your score oh snap.[QUOTE="tango90101"]it's just a matter of time before they offer user created content. it's only natural that more pc gamers would be online over xbl... there are infinitely more pc than xbox 360...
the fact that 50% of 360 owners use live while a fraction of a percentile of pc's are online gaming is really a testament to the consumer's attraction to xbl....
i'm sure the pc gaming community is huge.... there's no doubt about that.... but very, very, very small compared to the pcs on the market...
your love of pc online gaming is cool, but it's not "the best" to everyone....

WTF i have had XBL, lemming exajurate with a passion. your BS.Infact 4 months ago when my brother had to stay here for a few weeks he had his and the first thing he said(don't play Ghost recon your mess up my score) all the extra features is irrelavent, you know why? all we care about is playing games online. does PSN work for that? yes, thats all that matters, is it free? thats all that matters, can you have multiple names? that all that matters. we are not talking about wich you perfer we are talking wich is better and XBL will run you $200 in the lifespan of your console(or longer) while for everything else it's free. Lemmings are bias it doesn't shock me someone is gonna dispute my claims but to say i never logged into XBL is a foolish acutsation.
Oh yeah also for $50 you can't even go on the net when
PC=net
PS3=net
Wii=net
Xbox charges you and you can't even do a simple task like navigate the net, now lemmings might say i don't care about the internet i have a PC, well guess what einstein your paying $50 bucks a year for less service.
