ok ppl...ive hear (read) a LOT of lemmings calling "HALO THE BEST FPS EVEEEER!!, ive play bot Halo games..and is nothing special...but when i play Goldeneye or Perfect Dark (even today)...WoW!! is something...that i cant derscribe...really 2 incredible games...fun, exelent graphis (yea i know..are dated...but man is a lot fun!), AWESOME multiplayer, controls are exelent.-

Half life 2? you're kidding me? Right? Half life I understand, it was revolutionary. Half life 2 was overrated ala twilight princess and won nearly every GOTY award. Great game, Greater hype.

Go use an aimbot to play for you. Goldeneye and Perfect dark both had Auto-aim And I know for sure that PD had a lock on button (i dont remember if GE did though)

Hey, if you want to try out Goldeneye Source DL it, and DL Source SDK Base in Tools in Steam. This is a sweet remake of the MP portion of it. Have fun.
in its day Goldeneye was better than Halo in its day. I'm not going to tell you that I would rather play Goldeneye multiplayer right now though, instead of halo/halo 2 multiplayer. Mostly because of the speed of goldeneye, your character is incredibly slow moving in it and it is a huge detraction. I can ignore the graphical difference, but the speed kills it. Nothing better than Goldeneye multiplayer with all the proximity mines and other weapons.

Timesplitters 2 and Timesplitters Future Perfect... There is NO other better multiplayer game in the world and the single player is pretty fun too. No doubt about it for me... I LOVE timesplitters :D.
My cousin overheated his N64 by playing to much Goldeneye. That's crazy, sure it may not stand up to modern shooters but that game (IMO) really started it all.

Well, it had one of the coolest physics engines and the way you play around with the physics adds some fun replay value. Plus, if you've ever played the end sequence of Half Life 2 (with the super Gravity gun) you would know why it is the greatest FPS i've ever played. Plus, it has an amazing story (with a great way of presenting it), wonderful graphics, great fighting sequences, NO repitition, i could go on and on...
No one Lives forever and Shogo are 2 of the best FPS in my opinion. As a matter of fact, Monolith is probably the best FPS developer out there right now.
Goldeneye was good, but I think most of you are doing " Nostalgia > Anything current" really. I mean what kind of game lets you dual wield Assault rifles? =S
Perfect Dark is still my favorite FPS ever, even after playing Halo, Halo 2, Half-Life 2, TimeSplitters 2, and TimeSplitters: Future Perfect. I love that game. I played it this past weekend for the first time in years and it was just as great as I had remembered. The weapons were excellent, the controls were great (I actually prefer the PD64 setup over the default Halo setup), and the entire game is just brilliant. If only it didn't have the obnoxious slowdown. Seriously, get 4 players, 12 bots, all rocket launchers, and watch your N64 turn into a slide show.
