7 out of 10. Although I love the axing of the categories (especially the weird little score averaging thing they did), and the better emphasis on personal opinion, or "tilt", if you will, the new .5 increments admittedly need addressing. I would much prefer whole numbers above all else or, failing that, the old rating system back -- I personally love the new ideas, just not the increments chosen to represent them.
ratings at ganespot or now only multiples of .5 ... no increments of .1 ... :? pretty stupid but we'll have to see how it goes
well...I guess it's so that they don't have to deal with idiots holding every .1 as super-significant. I kinda always thought the precision of the decimal system in use was unnecessary. gaming isn't an exact science...and ratings most assuredly aren't. It'll also save them from having to deal with fanboys who freak out over such small things that it even impedes their enjoyment of the games.

it's possible, yes. what this means is that games that are 9.8's normally, they'll have to sit down and decide if it's worthy of a "10" or if it's just a "9.5".
this means there will be many 10's in the future, yes.
Most of what they say about the game is reflected in the main text of the review... they should just eliminate the numbers all together... but then again, there would be nothing on System Wars left to argue about...
