rate the super mario games in order (all SM games after 64)

i hated super mario galaxy so mine are...

sm64 >sunshine > >>>>>>>>>>galaxy one and 2

sm sunshine gets alot of hate here... i think that game was flipping amazing, the graphics were GORGEOUS. the game is pure nostalgia, of course sm64 was better.. but sm sunshine is a close 2nd. doesnt deserve the hate it gets, with some improvements in combat and ext it couldve been 1st place. it certaintly had better worlds than sm64

The only 3d Mario games I like are the Galaxy games.  SMG2 > SMG

Super Mario 64 (played through a ton of times) > Super Mario Sunshine (probably finished half the game) > Super Mario Galaxy (probably finished a quarter of the game) >  Super Mario Galaxy 2 (have no interest in playing)

Super Mario Galaxy 2 (easily the best) > Sunshine (underrated as hell) > Super Mario Galaxy > SM64.

SMG = SMG2 > SM3DL > Sunshine = NSMBU > 64

Super Mario Galaxy > Super Mario 64 > Super Mario Sunshine.

Haven't played all of them.

SMG2 > SMG > Sunshine > Mario 3D Land > Mario 64 > NSMBU > NSMB(DS) > NSMB Wii

The Galaxy games reminded me of Super Mario World(SNES), which is my all-time favorite Mario game. You have a start and a path to the finish line. I prefer linearity over the open world style of Mario 64, but I'll take Mario 64 over the NSMB series any day.

Honestly, and this is coming from a person who is a big fan of the genre and franchise, they're too different to compare. The only comparable ones are Galaxy 1 and 2, and even then it's hard to decide which is better.

I'll rate all the Super Mario games i've played, regardless:

1. Super Mario Galaxy 2

2. Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island

3. Super Mario 64

4. Super Mario Bros. 3

5. Super Mario World

6. Super Mario Bros.

They're all great games.

Super Mario 64 hands down one of the best games I have played. Sunshine is second followed by Galaxy. It pains me to say this but I found the NSMB series to all be too similar to one another. Not saying they are bad games just that they are all basically the same.
