I know they certainly aren't the most detailed environments and characters, but man the colors they use in that game are unbelievable. What do you rank WOW's graphics as?
compare to the current games, i would compare it to second generation ps2 games, and whats so great about that game, theres games that are way more fun
if i were to rank them without knowing anything about the game, id say they look fairly average. but they are pretty impressive when you consider that fact that its an mmo
graphics in terms of technical or artistic? technical - 5 artistic - 9 they look great because of the textures. but everything in the game is as blocky as games from 2003.
WoW is weird, the graphics are decent at best but the movement is so fluid...thats what got me to play it...my character didnt look like a moron when he/she was running around, like EQ2...Most MMO's look bad, only other one that had some kind of smooth motion was L2.

Yes I have played it. I have a level 60 pally thank you very much. I'm not saying it's a great game it's fantastic but it is also rediculously adictive. I found myself spending all night just hanging out at Ironforge dueling and then going to work and realizing I accomplished nothing except to piss off my wife and mess up at work.
WoW is a great game but no more MMORPS for me... they own you.

I forgot about that.It has been about six months since i have played it.But it still is very rare.And you can just swim there if you want.Or take the new flying mount.Or change into that sea monster if your a druid.Then there are no loading times.

Every time you enter an instance or travel across continent through boat or Zepplin, there is a loading screen. obviously he means general overworld travel. we only load when crossing continents. but heck that's better than really sitting on the ship for 20 min. and instances have to load by definition. they have to instantiate after all.

It's the community that you can't walk away from. When your heavy in a guild and everyone depends on you it's hard to let them down. Especually since you get really good friends on the game.

8. It doesn't have lots of shaders and detailed models, but it has a ridiculously long draw distance, low loading times for absolutely huge worlds, and a great art style to boot.

It being a MMO has nothing to do with graphics. Just look at EVE, Vanguard and EQ2. The real reason why WoW doesn't have high end graphics is so everybody on any computer can play. Seems like it worked since there are now 8 million active WoW players.
