Same here but for this and Hawken if they turn out good i will make an exception and buy themI just wish more of these games were single player focussed. I don't care much for online shooters, but I understand that they are easier to develop since they don't rely on AI, path-finding, pacing, location/enemy changes, voicework etc

The game looks good... hope non-vehicular combat is also good...

I believe it will be since the team that is making the game worked on BF2 and Desert Combat ( you know probably the greatest Mod of all ) :D

Just like damn near every other shooter out there today. Not a problem.

Anyone comparing this to Rage is a moron, it's much more like a Battlefield(mp-fps w/ vehicles) game than Rage(sp fps w/ vehicle filler garbage). The only thing that's similar is the setting. Inconsistancy
Let me see Vehicular battles? Check for both games
Similar post-apocalyptic setting and Locations? Also checked
Competitive online Multiplayer? checked for both games ( and according to reviews the only aspect of rage to be worth it )

Are you reading your reviews from Bizarro land or something? Because that's not a thing I've ever heard.
Anyways, I enjoyed RAGE, and this looks pretty fun, though I don't want to compare the two since they seem different in some key areas.

You can´t go wrong with it that´s for sure. >.>Wow, this game looks pretty awesome! Is it MP only? If so, I hope they allow for enough players on the map and many different weapons.

Are you stupid? What review says the MP is better than the SP? The best thing about Rage by FAR is the gunplay, if you're not playing the SP, you're doing it wrong. The vehicles are so shallow and easy to drive, that there's no gratification what so ever in driving them.
It's mp is ~BF post-apocalypse, Rage's is pseudo Twisted Metal-Racing.
And, unless you can't read, I did say "the only thing that's similar is the setting", you can be a smart ass and say they both have MP, guns, polygons, textures, lighting, animations, sounds and all that, but it doesn't change the fact that the MP is so vastly different as to be incomparable(not the same genre)
---
I'm guessing you've not played Rage, so how about instead of judging it based on nothing, just shut up about it.
"Derp, SC2 is a third person shooter, 'cause you see a guy with a gun and he shoots from third person, derp"
Looks really good, like a post-apoc Battlefield. I'm starting to feel that there's now a gaping empty void when it comes to quality singleplayer FPS though. I really want to play another Half Life or STALKEResque singleplayer, not generic post-apoc, generic military, generic aliens. Something that's creative and sparks the imagination. Damn I've been gaming too long, I'm too fussy.

"The car improvements are worth your time, but if you want a tough race, the competitive online multiplayer is the place to go" Gamespot review and yes i havent played enough Rage to judge it objectively but my 2hours with it havent exactly impressed me so probably i'm a bit harsh towards it and how many other vehicular battle games with similar atmosphere to Rage you know exactly ?What would that have changed? Look at when they started making Rage 6 years ago. How much VRAM were they targeting? Doom 3 was the same way; the textures weeny up to the same standard as, say, HL2.Rage would have been good if it was PC exclusive

And where did he say it was the only aspect of Rage that was worth it? No where.
It says, and what I'm 99% sure it means, and what you think it means
"The car improvements are worth your time"
in that they really help you in progressing in the game, makes it easier/possible (doesn't say fun, good...)
This part of the game is worth your time, it's so fun, even though it doesn't say 'fun' it just says 'worth it' w/o deeper context.
"But if you want a tough race, the competitive online multiplayer is the place to go"
assuming you like it(vehicle combat/racing), go play it's MP, as the in-game ai(for driving) is so easy that it provides no challenge.
It's MP must be great, and it's best feature!!!
And the core focus of Rage is a Pure FPS, it essentially has no story and it's vehicle combat/racing is so incredibly shallow that their presence only hurts Rage.
And I'm not sure how it matters if any games match it's setting and have vehicles, it's so bad at racing/vehicle combat that they should be ignored. The only relevance left is it's setting, and there are plenty of post-apocalyptic games

Whats up with the analysis?
So by your saying you are proving my point that rage failed at what is supposed to mainly be ( a vehicular combat game ) and that this game actually can be proved to be better at that compared to Rage.

 It's focus isn't vehicle combat! It was supposed to be id's first attempt at shooter+story+openworld(that order){and a tech demo for megatextures}. They failed at the story and vehicles, and typical of id the shooting is superb.
I can't believe you actually think Rage was supposed to be a vehicle combat game, it's literally there just as a side quest, and you need a vehicle to get to travel (though you're not 'required' to kill them if you just follow the story)
The analysis is there to clairify the review, and the green is to see that I'm getting your perspective right.
[QUOTE="SilverSterls"]that looks like a blatant rip-offArach666Oh? Did Rage also looked like a blatant rip-off of Borderlands? Rage's development started before Borderlands was announced... (though it's clearly stupid to see it as a rip-off when it's not similar to Rage)
[QUOTE="SilverSterls"]that looks like a blatant rip-offArach666Oh? Did Rage also looked like a blatant rip-off of Borderlands? Considering borderlands is cell shaded and focus on more RPG elements im going to say no. Other then the wasteland theme and being a FPS they had nothing in common.

Same as with Ravage ( as its not just vehicles ) though in Ravage vehicles is the main point ( and the similarities continue and i hope you got my point why i believe it looks like rage) . Sure they differ alot but they also have alot of similarities and thats why i said this is what Rage should have beenWould have been interested in this if it had single-player campaigns.
I don't care for mp-only.
I thought Rage was underrated, very short but I had a blast. Also Borderlands was good. Looking forward to Borderlands 2 this year.

I'm not sure how hard it is to understand that Rage's MP is a different genre than Ravage's. Beyond the setting, guns, vehicles, polygons, textures, 'n such are just trivial similarities.
Ravage is like Battlefield but post-apocalyptic and w/o a tacked on SP, multiplayer vehicle/fps combat with large maps. Rage is just an SP FPS with tacked on MP.
Instead of defending your point when you're wrong, just admit you're wrong.
Rage was never in anyway intended on being a MP game, what it 'should' have been was a better FPS, with either a good, well connected story, or no story and no vehicles.
[QUOTE="SilverSterls"]that looks like a blatant rip-offArach666Oh? Did Rage also looked like a blatant rip-off of Borderlands? Honestly they aren't very similar. Borderlands was an actual finished game though, but I'll say that Rage had much better gun play. Such a shame that Rage wasn't finished and they had to mix in those crappy buggy parts, it could have been great.
