RDR "Significantly Inferior" on PS3

According to CheapyD, the owner and founder of Cheapassgamer.com, a reliable source has claimed that the PS3 version of Red Dead Redemption is by far the inferior of the two platforms.

I for one hope this is exaggeration as I pre-ordered the game :shock:.

As for Cheapassgamer, it isn't a journalism site but the owner (CheapyD) does have a lot of connections in the video game business.

This actually reminds me of the pre-release rumors about GTA 4 that turned out to be unfounded.

It does make you wonder why there has not been any PS3 footage though.

Bummer if true...whatever, I guess we'll see.

CheapyD is just like us, a regular guy with an opinion, so I take that with a grain of salt.

The actual tech specialists will let us know what's up, but Cheapy may be right, who knows, but he's not the "authoritay" on any game graphics debates.

Anyways, I'm a bit skeptical that R* would drop the ball on the PS3 version; IIRC, GTA4 was almost identical on both consoles.

I really hope they are as equal as GTAIV on both consoles. One thing GTAIV got right was making sure the PS3 version was of the same quality as the 360...that is, if you subtract the horrible six axis control.

Im not really surprised anymore when I hear this about the PS3 version of a game. Gotten used to it. Anyway, ill wiat for comparisons. I think a game being Inferior on 360 or being better on PS3 is more "!" worthy, since it dosent happen very often.

Yeah, but to be more fair, have you ever seen his podcasts and videos. I have seen way too many. He's just a regular dude, not some techie specialist. He may be right, but he's just a regular guy...albeit popular.

Seems like a cool guy and all but even with what connections he has, I don't know. Really depends on who his source is and what they mean. Someone's "significantly inferior" could just be some minor nitpicking about AA or something. Guess we'll see what happens!

Yeah, I would rather play it safe myself....using all available sites like IGN, Eurogamer, Lesoftruth, Gamespot, GameInformer, Neogaf, and whoever else has something to say on the matter, just to be safe. :P

Yep, exactly. It could be horrible inaccurate, or very reliable. That's the problem.

Either way, if it turns out bunk, I highly doubt we will see any mention of CheapD until the next game he mentions on the side in a random forum post.

I'll be watching this carefully up until release.

I get a $20 credit for my next game purchase for buying it so I probably won't care.

Well, I have the PS3 version pre-ordered and paid off and don't plan on changing it. It is the same game and I am sure it will be fine.

(Too Human cost over 80 million dollars to produce).

I like his site, lots of slick deals found there. I'm getting this multiplat on the 360 as usual anyway but thanks for the info.

I realize it's a case of "My friends uncles cousin" but this guy does have connections. The problem is that he himself is not a hardcore tech guy. Take it with a grain of salt but it could easily have some substance to it.

Ouch, sounds like its maybe not goign to be as amazing as the trailers have shown... I mean, they show off some kewl stuff, but if it all doesn't integrate together into a coherent gameplay / storyline, then I suppose its going o be a useless sandbox game. Maybe not though, I have to wait and see what the reviewers say after its release, because 2009 to 2010 could have had some significant changes that made it worth while to pickup still.

I have the inferior version of Bayonetta too, and i freaking love that game, so i couldn't care less for this "inferior" version garbage anymore, as long as is the same game and get the same feeling, then i'm fine.

I find it hard to believe that there 'significant' differences. Both versions of GTA IV are basically identical, even though pre-release people were proclaiming the 360 version to be vastly superior. Both versions of RDR are probably the same except for minor things like more jaggies in the PS3 version or something.Doolz2024
