I have seen the latest RE5 gameplay video. What the......95 % similar to RE 4. Not only that it have :

  1. Same animation with RE4
  2. Enemy fall & die the same way with RE4 ( what parasite again ? I want zombie..... )
  3. Can`t shoot while walking

My conclusion is RE 5 is similar to RE4 but with latest graphic. Hope Capcom fix it and son`t screw it up ( just like they did withcrappy Lost Planet....)

Ill wait and see. Im not hyped at all after seeing the footage. It looks like the same exact animations as RE4. If they dont fix this up its going to be RE4 just with nicer graphics.

Well seeing that RE4 was pretty damn good...I won't be completely dissapointed if some things are recycled but I definetly won't be as excited

Whats wrong with RE4? 5 Looks good. Also they are working a weather system into the game that will affect your character abilities. Not a revolution, but that stands apart from RE4.

They have found a winning formula that at least appeals to some kind of demographic, where before it was just the people who started threads that said "what if this happened in real life" and "the zombie threat could be real"/people who actually wanted a zombie invasion.

Issue number two is, with zombies moving so damn slowly, how did anyone ever get eaten? Even the romero films show the zombies some how managing to catch up, or humans getting caught off guard (like zombies are somehow counting on the human watchmen and guards to be incompitent morons every time). It just doesn't seem plausible.

I enjoyed RE4 and the way it played ..... so I am happy with what I have seen so far. Graphics look really good and the way the enemies break down is a pretty cool effect imo.

I agree. This is why I refuse to buy gears of war 2 and final fantasy 13. Why should be we give developers the benefit of the doubt? It's not like they have some kind of reputation for delivering good games or anything.

I'm not saying it will suck. Its just I hope that's not the only foe animation. I hope they stand different and die different. If not then that's just being lazy. It would be they took the bad guys from RE4 and made them a different color.

NO YOU SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO SHOOT WHILE MOVING!!!!!!!

that would remove the last game aspect that makes it a resident evil game...

you want to shoot and move, play another game. skip this one

It isn't what people are hyping it to be, how graphics will change the entire gameplay, but that doesn't matter in the end does it?

the game looks fantastic really, and more RE4 is nothing to be "disppointed" of because RE4 was a great game from the beginning.

You guys are complaining about not being able to walk and shoot at the same time? Do you not even realize the sense of tension and terror this feature adds to the game?

When you're standing still, trying to get a shot, and see the enemies creep up to you, you start panicking.

When you miss, mentally you think ("Damn, OH MY GOD HES GETTING CLOSER, I BETTER KILL HIM BEFORE HE GETS TO ME".)

Its best if the RE5 formula remains IDENTICAL to the things that made RE4 so good.

What no way they changed the gameplay for 4 and it worked great so gameplay will be fine. They are adding so much this game will be awesome. I love the fact that you go inside and you cant see anything but black for like 3 seconds because your eyes have to adjust.

it added and subtracted a little too much to the point that you won't tell if it's an RE if they just changed the name.

Hi, well they are zombies so sometimes they will walk and they do run actually (i think)

When they walked with axes towards Chris i believe they walked because they are closing in on him. There were a couple of dozen zombies in the gameplay video in that scene so it makes sense they walk to him trapping him.

I think that if you can move and shoot, it defeats the purpose of survival horror and all your left with is a generic TPS. I like RE4 for what it is was and will probably like RE5 accordingly.

Honestly the formula isn't played out...yet... so its still practical for them to use and I can't imagine them improving it in anyway dramatically.

I think it was odvious that parasites were involved.. Seeing as they have one scene where the infected put something in another natives mouth and he seizures then wakes up.. As a hostile.

I so wish also they remake Resident Evil 2. With RE4/Re5 mechanics.. But make it a survival horror again.. This can be done easy by making ammo scarce.. Or making guys do alot of damage.

People are still asking for you to be able to shoot while moving?

Why the hell would anyone want that? That would ruin the intensity and pacing of the game. :|

And who gives two ****s about the animations being similar? It's not like the animations are poor or unrealistic.

I'm not really complaining about this because I like the RE4 style but I didn't like going into the castle, I think that was a pretty bad idea. And I also hated how most enemies have weapons. I like zombies, the RE4 camera and gameplay would work well with zombies. Except when they're shot in the head, they better die! :evil: All I hear in zombie movies is "Shoot them in the head!" and it doesn't work in any Resident Evils. I also didn't like the island, it wasn't too fun. The village was a very well put together area. I loved that one by far, it was creepy and was intense. What I really want is survival horror, I didn't find myself scared during RE4. Like keep the angle or have an option to change it back to the fixed angles and then make it scary and intense. Well I can go on and on about a horror video game I would like so I guess I'll stop. :) :P

Kinda disappointing if they don't improve on a few of RE4's flaws. And really, is it so much to ask for a few new animations? Still, I wasn't very interested in RE5 from the start.

totally agreed, moving while aiming? wha kind of ****ing BS is that? if anything, that's the last thing RE has as a survival horror game...

no one should ask for shooting while moving it would just ruin this game. if u could in re4 i wouldve definitely not liked the game as much cuz it would lose intensity. i will say i hope they do something with the animations. like blend mo cap with some ragdolls and have some more fluid character movement and such. i would go crazy if they pulled off 60fps though!

Yeah im actually disappointed myself and ive been a long time fan since the first game. RE4 was fun in its own way but should be a RE game. RE5 better be scary this time around because the past games besides part 4 actually got me to jump out of my seat a lot. RE4 was so hollywood action like it didnt seem like a survival horror game. While I had fun with it...just didnt seem like over done hollywood action to me. Hopefully RE5 will bring back good amount of puzzles that actually make you think and creepy scary atmosphere especially like in RE2 and RE3.

Franchises that are around for so long need to evolve before the formula gets too old, i mean comon do you still want to be controlling a tank? and i mean look Final Fantasy 12 did it and didnt end up so bad sometimes you just have make tweaks to certain things, it's like big bands tweaking there music for more people to like it

I'm very excited about RE5. The graphics and animation look similar to RE4 but that goes to show you how good part 4 was. You could only achieve so much with tech that it becomes a balancing act. I rather have an intelligent 25 hour game than have all the bells and whistles that some of these recent "groundbreaking" titles claim to have. Resident Evil 4 paved the way for many of the beloved games that are so damn hyped up in the western game market, like for instance- Gears, Assassin's, Dark Sector etc. Since every western developer is doing it, why can't Capcom rip off itself. I just like to give credit where credit is do and I can't stand everyone slobbering over how "beautifull and innovative" those other games are. Japanese game design rules.
