Re: All the recent hate / love towards FFXIII

Recently there have been multiple threads complaining about the XBOX360 hindering FFXIII from what it would have been if it was just on the PS3 and several threads defending Square Enix by pointing out the lip syncing for the English language. Although there are several other things being pointed out, these two seem to be the most prominent ones.

Everyone is forgetting something however....

Square Enix has sucked for the most part ever since they became Square Enix from Squaresoft.

The last great game to come from the company was Final Fantasy X. Obviously FFXIII will most likely receive high praise from reviewers like the rest just because it is from a former great company and the fact that it is named in arguably the greated JRPG franchise of all time.

We, the gamers, just need to face the fact that it will most likely suck just as XII did compared to previous titles such as VI, VII, VIII, IX, and X. So lets stop arguing over a game that will be a letdown as X-2, XI, and XII have been and stop thinking of Square Enix to be one of the elite developers that they once were.

Well you heard it ppl, FFXIII is probably going to suck because TC believes S-E is a crap company.

You must not have heard that the team that's making FFXIII is almost the exact same team that made FFX.

Final Fantasy has always been one of those franchises that receives great fanfare and acclaim, but can never appeal to everyone as universally as games like...

Well, has there ever been a game that's universally praised? Some Zelda games? Some Mario games? Half-Life? Eh...

Personally, I didn't enjoy XII, but I loved X.

This is full of fail. Final Fantasy X was awful IMO. Yes Square and Enix has gone downhill since the merger. But saying FFX was the last good title in going to far (especially since one of their worse). Square-Enix has put out some decent titles since then. Valkyrie Profile 2, FFXII, Dragon Quest 9 and the World Ends with You were pretty good. As for FFXIII it looks good and hopefully the story is better than FFX.

i enjoyed FF XII and KH2 so just there your thread made no sense

XII would have been the best Final Fantasy to date if their writer didn't leave halfwaythrough. Seriously, aside from the plot, that game is a beacon of quality. XIII doesn't have those problems and should be amazing.

I never played XI myself, but I'm pretty sure yoú haven't too. Why would you say it sucks? You don't know it.

The reason why my guess is that you never played it is the simple fact that EVERY SINGLE PERSON I know that plays or played it, loved it. You shouldn't criticize that which you don't know.

Besides, LR is a different dev team and Star Ocean is done by Tri Ace.

I didn't like FFX actually, I liked 11, 12, SO3, SO4, TLR, just about every big SE release, so I completely disagree. I've been hyped for FFXIII since day one, it going multiplat or being hindered or whatever doesn't effect me in the slightest, I know SE releases awesome games, so I don't care about all these topics.

Edit: And I know they aren't all the "Square" team, but this is a topic about SE.

Regardless, XII's battle system was extremely well done.
