RE fans should boycot Wii: Umbrella Chronicals

Just watch the new Wii: TUC movie and try your best not to vomit.

I bought a GC b/c of the REmake and was happy when RE4 came out for it; i own every RE for GC except RE2 and 3 b/c I have them on my PS and PS2. Anyway, I was thinking of getting a Wii for its exclusive RE, but after that RIDICULOUS video I may have just saved around $400 (system, extra controller, game).

 Why? WHYYYYYYYYYY Capcom!?!?

No kidding, those games were amazing, regardless of how dated their graphics are getting. I still love those kinds of games. Virtua Cop was another good one as well and on rails shooters can be a lot of fun. RE should use the Wii Zapper add on though, it would be better for shooting then having the targeting reticle on the screen and using the Wiimote only, it would be easier to aim.

If that game had another title, it would be cool. But RE has set standards and I was disappointed with RE4's lack of true exploration and figuring things out. Don't get me wrong, I loved RE4 in its own right, but it stayed from the tried-and-true formula I love so much. This "rails" is a joke, and hearing Jill screem annoying things while not helping you shoot is ridiculous...

It looks fun, it's been forever since i've played a good light gun game.

Don't rock the boat, buy it, and those sales along with the immense popularity of the Wii will cause them to start making some real RE games for it.

RE4 port and an on-rails shooter. Just give us RE5. 

I like rail shooters. RE UC was said that it will take 15-20 hours to playthrough. I sounds great to me.lycrof

...don't you think this works both ways and has worked this way since the dawn of time? ALL 3rd parties sell games to make money so they can develop more games. Only a small minded fool would try to apply this theory soley to the Wii.

Are you suggesting that 3rd parties weren't aware of the rather large PS2 fanbase last generation and weren't putting games on that system to earn 'easy cash' while developing for other systems? Don't be so naive...

RE:4 for GC is an amazing game. One of my favorites. But I don't see the point of it for the Wii. The Wii needs a new RE all together. JDW_games

This IS a new RE game. They're talking about RE:UC not RE:4...

Actually Resi fans should enjoy UC because it visits familiar locations and characters, telling an exclusive side story that fills in some gaps of the series. I know its not the kind of gameplay that makes the series great but Capcom have experimented before and it looks like a pretty cool game regardless, Wii's best graphics too.

If I want normal Resident Evil I'll be getting Resi 5 on the 360.

well, many rightly believe that resident evils exploration and old methods were getting boring and tedious. So much so that I couldnt of cared less about another resident evil game. Fortunatly resident evil 4 changed everything and it was for the better!

Well yeah imagine playing survival horror games with the wii mote.. it would be sucky indeed, they bypass this by making it a house of the dead type game.  This is why I hate motion sensing, it only suits certain genres, and dumbs them down..Dahaka-UK

Actually, I could think of no better catagory suited for survival horror than wii. It never required many buttons, it needs a decent interface, and if gives you a bit more control the world. Sadly, no one makes survival horror games anymore...

How exactly would the Wiimote or motion controls suck for survival horror? ok 3rd person it may seem a little odd but think first person like Condemned, Resi 4 for Wii should be the best version too.

The developer behind RE4 isn't working on RE5... I don't know how good RE5 will be...

(There is probly a good reason we've not seen hide nor hair of it for a while... It's probly been scraped and restarted again just like all the others.) 

I take it you've never played killer7 then? 'Cause that what it looks like to me. Minus the awesome mind-melting story, and probably more action-centric, which is fine by me.

Different from the tried-and-true formula doesn't necessarily mean bad. RE4 proved that without a shadow of doubt. Wait and see the finished product before you hype this as a bad/average game.

For the better in your opinion... MANY liked the survival horror genre over the third person shooting genre.  Capcom could of made a different third person shooter equally as better as RE4 without screwing up everybodys favorite survival horror game.  Now look what where left with in the survival horror genre, SILENT HILL, thats it, all the other survival horror games are dead or crappy :|  I hope RE5 will change for the better and go back to its roots

I agree...   ...in fact, I'm not really sure I understand why Dahaka would say that in the first place. How many buttons did you need to play RE:4? Besides the cut-scene stuff, you needed one analog to move, one analog to aim, and one button to fire.

Nunchuck - move around
Wiimote - aim
Trigger - fire

What's the problem?

Anyway - on topic - I actually like this game. I was just watching the movie, and while it may not have all the 'puzzle aspects' of previous RE's (which nobody really knows for a fact at this point whether it does or doesn't), the suspense and gore is certainly there...   ...and that's whay makes Resident Evil so good in the first place.
