RE Revelations 2 Vita will come complete & w/ Vita features

Greetings! It seems like eons ago since we announced a whole slew of new titles at PlayStation Experience, even though it’s only been a few months. So I wanted to give you all an update on what’s going on with Resident Evil Revelations 2 for PS Vita.

As the final episode of Revelations 2 was just recently released on PS4 and PS3, we’re now ready to complete its transition over to PS Vita thanks to the passionate team at Frima Studio, who is knee-deep in production of this title for our favorite little handheld. While we get closer to locking down PS Vita-specific gameplay and features, we will update you all again soon with a firm release date. But for now, I am just saying “coming digitally this summer.”

The PS Vita version of Revelations 2 will contain all four episodes of Capcom’s scarefest, including any DLC (sans consumables) released thus far. As for Raid Mode, single-player will also be included at launch, but online co-op Raid Mode and the ad-hoc modes will most likely come post-launch via an update. This is so we can get the full game into your hands that much sooner. Finally, we’ve added gyroscopic targeting to make shooting weapons that much more PS Vita-centric.

We will update you with a firm release date soon, but for now, I’ve got to see what horrors Barry, Natalia, Claire, and Moira are facing on that terrifying island.

It's great to hear that they are working on giving Vita owners the complete experience on the handheld. I'm excited for this release. Have not played the game yet. I gotta say, Vita is still getting some pretty decent releases. Don't forget there's the Vita exclusive Severed as well as Persona 4 Dancing All Night. I'm also enjoying all of the great indie releases as well. What say you, SW? Is Vita still on your radar? I can imagine there will be a price cut this year. $150 would be nice.

I still haven't played it, so this is probably the version I will go to if/when I ever get around to it.

Probably gonna stick to the PS4 version since my library has it, but if this is cheap, why not?

not only is the game late, the game sucked, if anything Vita players were afforded an opportunity not to waste their money on RER2, this is easily the worst game of the 8th gen I've played thus far

I didn't play it because I wanted to wait for the vita version as the first game felt perfect for handheld. Not sure why capcom passed on 3ds though. I was itching to get more use out of the second pad on my new 3ds.

Will it have a better framerate than the PlayStation 4 version?

I almost bought this for the PS4, but then i noticed that it doesn't have online co-op for its story mode.

So yeah, I'll wait for the mid-year Steam sale. Or maybe even later.

No buys.

May pick up on Vita if the port is good as it'll be nice to have it on the go. Will just grab in a Steam sale if they do a terrible job though.

I hope they don't add those touchscreen gimmicks on this. It killed Golden Abyss for me completely.

If it uses the back touch pad, that will make it the worst version.

Hhmm I'll have to think about this since it's digital.
Might have to look how cheap some other retail games are on amazon to compensate as this will likely take up a lot of real estate on the mem card.

@lamprey263: to you maybe. The raid mode is amazing, and story mode actually mixes old resident evil elements with action stuff. I enjoyed this game for episode 1 and hated re5 and only played 6 breifly, but those games sucked not this.

Didn't get the other episodes on ps4 because was waiting on this. Will be great playing this on vita.

@Blabadon: vita ports scare me too... Borderlands 2 was clunky as eff.

I'll get this game on vita though. I'm still waiting for axiom Verge on vita as well... Any news on that release date?

After failures the likes if ORC, Rev and Rev 2, it's enough to make me go from a hardcore RE fan to not even bothering with future side RE games. I enjoyed RE6 far more than the side games and am willing to give RE7 a shot.

That's great, I can't wait to get my PS3 version.

I couldn't even get into the idea of playing a RE "side" game after playing RE6. That game was trash, even compared to RE5. RE5 was somewhat maligned, but it was still a pretty good game.

RE6 I guess it was good that they had plenty of ambitious ideas, but damn the gameplay and environments were godawful. Nauseatingly bad. It made me wish for the tank control style RE games LOL.

LOL RE 5/6 sucked balls easily some of the worst games I've played in recent years where as Rev 1/2 where actally pretty good.

@Newhopes: We have completely opposite views.
