I can't be the only one who thinks RE5 looks boring. I don't know about you but I liked the dark and grey setting from RE4 much better. Fighting zombies in over a 100 degrees? It's not just the setting, but the graphics are good but the artstyle is not inventive or different at all. It looks like a lot of games out now. It looks like Army of Two or Splinter Cell 4 in that middle eastern level...or was that Africa? It also looks way too much like Assassin's Creed. I'm sorry but if nothing stands out from a game, then it is just boring, doesn't get my attention at all.

I also have to mention how overused the bloom effects seem to be in the game. I don't know if they did that to make it look realistic(which it doesn't) or maybe they did it to hide some ugly textures, but it's not needed. The lighting is just terrible and seems like it was done by a bunch of amateurs...devs need to look at Crytek and what they did with their game(lighting), because this over-use of bloom is becoming a trend. Anyway, is there anyone else who thinks RE5 looks uninteresting?

I'm just disappointed from what I saw. The game is sticking to close to RE4's blueprint and the AI looked terrible.

I feel similar about RE5. After looking at the images and watching some video clips, the game looks more like one of those shooting games, like Time Crisis.

I think it looks cliche tbh.

How about playing as a main charecter that looks like this?

And a female sidekick who looks like this for once?

It's not just the characters though it's other stuff, the game just isn't scary any more. I guess that's why stalker become abit of a hit with people, it was devoid of glamour, hunky male leads and sexy sidekicks looking cool, with some large mutant end-boss. You just looked like a nobody and were not the center of attention trying to save the universe with stylish cut-scenes.

I don't think anyone here is forcing you to buy the game. When there are games that I dislike or "boring" I simply move on and forget about the game.

You mean the same way that halo is just a game about shooting aliens?
And MGS4 all you do is sneak around till you reach the objective marker, watch a 20 min cutscene. rinse and repeat?
You are not the only one that can grossly over simplify a game in one sentence.

I honestly don't see why RE4 gets so much praise, I played the original RE and that one was so much more immersive and intense then RE4 ever was....

I really wished they would take it back in that direction.

I bet if RE4 and 5 were the old ways and this "new" style never occured people would be saying "bu bu bu itz da sayme!"

And  at saying RE5 resembles RE4 and complaining about it. All the RE games before were EXACTLY the same except for some crappy gameplay addition like Nemesis in 3.

RE5 is gonna be amazing, just wait.

I hated the first one for PS1. That's probably the only RE game that I played and didn't like aside from Dead Aim.

The remake is great though.

Not just "the same" but ancient and obsolete by todays standarts, endless fetch quests and tank controls are so 90's

Dont get me wrong the games were awesome and i recently replayed RE2 wich was great but to release such a game in present day is financial suicide. How the onimusha series fared so well on the ps2 is beyond me.

Please tell me your joking dude. If that's the reason I officially hate capcom. That and the fact they are changing the gameplay to RE5 and making it more gears like. You know with duck, cover and pop. This basicly kills the survival horror in RE (well whats left of it if any) and makes it full action. It would be like calling gears a survival horror game.

Now I have yet to see the new gameplay aspect of RE5,but if it turns out the way I think it will(which I stated above) then thats my point of view form now on.

The original Resient Evil games are terrible. The only one I liked was 4. To be fair, I played Resident Evil Remake on December 6, 2006. I guess it aged horribly. The GameStop employee told me to steer clear, and that time was not kind to it, but I didn't listen.

That was my first mistake.

yeah im not joking, i was so mad. Re4 was great, but this would have been so much better. I really think im not going to like re5 the way its going, i mean the only reason that i liked re4 was because that even though it was more action oriented, it still felt like resident evil, with the gameplay change, man its just going to be too different

I'm both a fan of the way RE used to be, and the way they changed it (RE4 and RE5). Although I have to admit that RE4 didn't scare me once, it was turned into more of an action based game, rather than a survival horror game, which is unfortunate, but not detrimental. I'm curious to see how they can change up RE5 to not make it seem like RE4 with a fresh coat of paint.

VendettaRed07

Not just "the same" but ancient and obsolete by todays standarts, endless fetch quests and tank controls are so 90's

Dont get me wrong the games were awesome and i recently replayed RE2 wich was great but to release such a game in present day is financial suicide. How the onimusha series fared so well on the ps2 is beyond me.

Agreed 100%.

We better be careful though, we might anger the legions of RE fanboys who are blinded by nostalgia.

REmake is one of the greatest games ever made, and aged perfectly

but re isnt for everyone, but re4 is, so thats why they changed it

Exacly RE4 is for the mainstream crowd or you can even say the more casual players.
