I'm looking forward to it as it looks sweet BUT i do wish on some level that they would do an old style one after it with the old style camera instead of an over the shoulder type again (and actully be zombies again, proper RE ones).Stoner-PimpThe old sytle cameras were great, they definatly added to the tension. I dont know i enjoy the las plagas a bit, and dont forget its sort of everything the virus is based off of, Lastly, if they were constantly screwing up the T-Virus to make zombies, whoever has gotten the virus has stablized it to what it has to be
I think it will be an AAA title for sure... but honestly since it has been in development since forever ago and hasn't really evolved much from 4 I'm kind of losing some of my excitement for it.Gesymai guess they went in with the if its not broken dont fix it mindset
Been a fan since 2 (Resi 2 not since I was 2), not a super fan though so I loved RE4, and even though 5 looks way to similar to 4 I'm still getting it for the co-op.bobbetybobim a super fan have been playin it since 11 years old and that was in 1998

I don't think that's a bad thing since it has only been one game. This gameplay isn't old yet, so why change it up so soon.
I'm curious about how everyone feels about RE5 and how long you have you been a series fan? Me Personally RE5 is already my GOTY 2009, I'm glad the series has made it as far as it has , and the series is evolving as a whole. I just cant wait 4 months so excited for it! :DAnimal-Mother
I am not really a series fan but I have played RE3 and RE4 and thought both were pretty good. I am excited that RE5 might be coming to PC, and in good form to. I just hope Capcom continues to improve with their PC work because they have done some really bad ports in their days.

Can you say awesome?

Thanks for saying this. I get tired of repeating myself how RE5 = RE4.5.

seems logical, took what 4-5 years in between X- and 12?
I wish they would have stuck with the umbrella storyline. racoon city. and also make the game non-linear again. also not have the zombies drop money for god sakes. but other than that ill take what I can get.NaiKoN9293I liek lootz. :(

noooooo :( having the freaking zombies drop glowing piles of dineros ruins the illusion that they am for realz :( at least for me
Resident Evil 5 looks like it will be a very good game. I'm a long time fan of the series since the PS1 days when the original came out. I have to say that if RE5 is anything like RE4 (which I suspect it will be) then it has lost a lot of that horror aspect that made me love the RE series to begin with. RE5 looks much more like an action game then a horror game and that is a let down for me. RE seems to have shifted from horror to more action and suspense, and if that's what Capcom wants to take their series then more power to them, but I am bummed out that the series went from:

Dead Space really showed everyone what a horror game is supposed to be like and for horror fans it will most likely be the better game out of the two. But with that said, I still can't to play RE5.
Lets see it is better than 99% of games released so far this gen. And the graphics are top quality the best out of any upcoming 360 game. And they also rank high from PS3 standards.
It will be scary.
There will be action
It will have amazing co-op.
The campaign will be lengthy
It will have a good plot.
It will be a GOTY candidate.
Basically
RE5>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Uncharted, ASsasins Creed, Halo 3, Gears of War, Dead Space, etc.
My thoughts? Well... Resident Evil 4. New graphix. New setting. Kinda like Metroid Prime 2.
This gen, people seem to enjoy last gen gameplay. Not that theres anything wrong with that.
Graphically it's an over shiny game.
I like that they're adding co-op feature and making the game long.
I hate how the new girl has a lame tattoo to make her look badass, and how she uttered the cliche " Welcome to Afrika".
Buying it, but not too hyped about it.
Can wait.
From the trailers i have seen ... i feel disapointed , just that.Ren_eko
Have you seen the TGS trailer? Thats the one that really got me hyped about this game.

I have seen them all , Graphical improvements apart this game has nothing IMO, the combat system doesn't seem to have improved enough , the ambiance also seems to similar to RE4 , and i saw Wesker doing instant transportation a la DBZ i know that RE series has always stretched reality a bit , but that IMO is just too much.
Ps: This is all based on the trailers , i sincerely hope to be wrong about this game.

I first saw Resident Evil 1 back in 1996, on July, 28th, 1998 (one day before my 12th birthday) I bought PS1 and Resident Evil 2 was my very first game. I knew what I wanted and I wasn't dissapointed at all, I instantly loved it. I played all Resident Evil games for Playstation, including Biohazard Gun Survivor, I also played Code Veronica on Dreamcast briefly (or actually Dreamcast emu to be precise), and Resident Evil Gaiden on Game Boy Color. None after that, except Resident Evil 4 of course. And because of Resident Evil 4 and how much I despise it, and I'm not looking forward to Resident Evil 5 at all, based on my whole experience with Resident Evil 4 and numerous presentations of Resident Evil 5. Maybe Resident Evil 6 in FPP or squad-based TPP / FPP convention would be the saving grace for the series, but I'm not sure.

What are you smoking? Resident Evil was never scary, and never had a good plot to begin with, and what's more it didn't take itself too serious, especially Resident Evil 1 in cliched b-movie convention, or overwrought Americanised blockbuster that was Resident Evil 2, but that was actually a good thing.

I have been a fan of the series since RE2 , i have played them all and my top two are RE2&4(maybe i have a gamer crush on Leon 0.0) , like i said RE5 hasnt impressed me much , i hope the game turns out to be better than 4 ... time will tell , i guess.
RE2 was great, one of the scariest games I've played. RE4 was like a a whole different franchise, a great game, but it felt like the gameplay couldn't really keep up with the more actionish direction the series took. And while the QTEs were mostly well done I hope they'll cut down on those in RE5.
If the controls are a bit more modernized I'm up for it, especially now with the rumours about PC version. Hopefully capcom does the port themselves this time and can meet the quality standards set by DMC4 on PC, if so it's a fairly certain buy for me. But it's still not among my most anticipated games.

What are you smoking? Resident Evil was scary, unless you're going to bore us with stories of your masculinity and how nothing scares you.
AAA IMO. One thing I don't like about it is the zombies stop running at you about 20 feet away from you and lurch slowly at you from there in. I wish they would keep running until they catch you. It would make it scarier.BudsMcGreenI dont know man I saw a video with like 5 running full speed right up to them. This game looks like it will be alot more intence and fast paced over RE4.

There are 2 types of scare: The boo type scare , that RE excells at ; and the psycholigical tension fear like SH 1,2,3 excell at.
RE is scary , just more in a Boo kind of way.

True, i think the biggest scare for me was when the licker jumped through the mirror in the police station in RE2.
Quests (puzzles) in RE 4 were just ridiculous
Its like, you are standing in front of big doors.
You dont know how to open them, but than! BINGO!
Lets do this great JIGSAW PUZZLE we found nearby!
(after few minutes puzzle is completed)
CRrrRRrrRUUUnNNNnKKKKKK
OMG DOORS ARE OPENED!
Those are some of most stupid puzzles i ever seen
