According to system wars reaction to both games, you could conclude RDR is the better game. I, however, can not make a decision since I have not played FFXIII

I never played RDR, so FFXIII for me I guess...
I'm expecting many to say RDR, though, knowing both games' reputations.
RDR is a much better game, i can't see how someone could argue against this, the quality, the immersion, gameplay, characters ( for the most part) were all top rockstar quality.
FFXIII was a typical JRPG linear borefest with some pretty pre-renders.
Both have such high production values. You cant go wrong. RDR might last you longer even though it has the worst multiplayer in the history of current gen titles. Anyone who disagrees is in denial and loves Rockstar far too much.
[QUOTE="mitu123"]I included multiplats, so it does. well if your gonna include multiplats then include all the PS2 games as well, and still it doesnt PS2 isn't the same as PS3. Unless you include PS3/PS2 multiplats.[QUOTE="Blu_Rayer"] no it doesntBlu_Rayer
either that or they have played the co-op missions with a bunch of friends and enjoyed the crap out of them. Both have such high production values. You cant go wrong. I played like 3 multiplayer matches and quit, I'm still doing co-op!Both have such high production values. You cant go wrong. RDR had crazy good multiplayer, most all critics praised its open world, co-op, and competitive features worthy of standalone praise. Both have such high production values. You cant go wrong. [QUOTE="finalstar2007"]i got a ps3 for FFvs cuz im a big fan too but i dont know about FFXIII......microsoft...... What!? That doesn't a lick of sense lol. As for the topic RDR was the better game for me. I disliked FFXIII a lot. I tried to force myself to beat but just couldn't. (only main stream FF title I didn't beat).Which sold more? i think its RDR since it charted on top in 2 months while FFXIII charted once then completly gone the next mont. i only played FFXIII so its the better game. might rent RDR and see how it is
Blu_Rayer
depends upon game type preference FF13 is graphically better (unless bought for 360 then maybe not) and is a fantasy rpg, rdr is shooter and western game and in its own right is fun and a good game but not anywhere as good as ff13 at least on a ps3. I own both consoles and played ff13 on 360 and ps3 and ps3's version is noticably better.
I cannot for my life understand why people would ask - which of these two totally different games is better - it's not apples and oranges, it's apples and friggin hand-grenadeslamprey263
I take it you don't believe that there should be an overall game of the year award? They have the same premise: "Which of these games is the absolute must-play?". Pretty tough to do, I mean it's just as you said, apples and hand grenades, but it just has to be answered.
Fake edit: A situation where a question similar to this would be asked would be when you're only able to afford one game for whatever reason and are pretty tied up between two totally different games. Pretty tough to answer on your own.
On-topic: I'd take Red Dead Redemption over Final Fantasy XIII. It was just battle after battle with FFXIII with no chance to kick back and relax or explore the world at your leisure. Given the length of the game, trying to do a marathon with such poor pacing/tension management is just insane.
