Really Alpha Protocal...?!? 6 DAYS before launch!!!!!

Don't know if all saw this nugget of information but it looks like Alpha Protocal is being pushed to June 2010... ugh. It was coming out next week for gods sake. How can you make that call to give a game another 9 months of dev time, 6 DAYS BEFORE LAUNCH!!!! Its been on my list for months... I know what everyone will say, "more dev time is a good thing" but c'mon, this is bitter, not sweet.

and it wasn't going to release till october 27th, still a full month away not 6 days... the company hasn't released any info about a delay but will comment on retailers changing release dates soon

It is...but it is not a FPS.

Its not an FPS... its the same perspective as Mass Effect, same conversation methods, basically as close to ME as you're gonna get in a different setting. This just rots... They coulda had a nice little hit (or apparently not) in this barebones late 2009, instead, snake eyes for everyone... ugh.

basically two different retailers both just independently changed their shipping dates from OCT 6th to June 31st 2010 and June 1st 2010. its getting delayed.

Yep, I saw this one coming from a mile away. As much as I was anticipating this one, a silent 8 month delay at the last minute is a red flag if there ever was one. It was also delayed back in Feb. as well. At this point, it would not surprise me a bit to see this eventually get canned. As the game is supposedly nearly finished, so it is quite hard to see Sega paying for an extra 8 months of development here.

Trying to avoid competition for this year is also something that I do not buy, as they would not have led us all to believe that it was going to be an Autumn release, only to do a stealth delay at the last minute, lol. Not to mention the horde of heavyweights that will be releasing in 2010. Most of which are currently slated for Q1 of course, but do not be surprised to see more than a couple of those titles slip to Q2. As there is no way Q1 is going to remain that packed. In other words, I think AP is doomed whether it actually releases or not.

I'm thinking the first delay was probably a good choice, but this one is gonna be catastrophic for AP.

While Alpha Protocol did get a cover story on GI once, the hype and appeal has gone down since. It hasn't even even been considered that big a deal, was it even mentioned at E3? The game looked amazing, and I too am mad, but that extra time will definitely benefit the game with a new layer of polish and new features.

Yeah, I get pissed off when devs and/or publishers do this. FIrst it was set for Oct. 6th, then it was magically pushed back to Oct. 27th, then they switched it to June 2010. And the best part, neither Obsidian or Sega will confirm it's delayed. We all know it is, though. But why keep us in the dark and tell us right at the last second when we had our $60 ready to hand over.

Maybe they don't believe they've properly advertised it enough, even as someone who follows gaming news, I haven't heard much about it.. or at least not much advertising and such, so it might be for the better if they put out some months of ads + making it better.110million

Alpha protocal is probably the most advertised game going in gaming magazines... the add runs 3-4 pages and its been going for two months. granted Ive never seen a comercial for it but its a new ip, thats nothing shocking.

While its most likely been delayed there still nothing officially confirmed, so theres abit of hope left, just not alot :cry:

This is great news for me.I already have too many RPG's to finish and Demon's Souls coming out next month is not going to make it any better.June 2010 is a good month, maybe I can get it for my birthday.
