Really Capcom? Really?

Now I've been a fan of Capcom's games since I was a kid but after reading this article I've clearly lost all respect for Capcom. One save for life? So, no replays, or what? lol, oh Capcom.

For lazy people, Capcom is not allowing the reseting of data for their new game , Resident Evil Mercenaries 3D. That means if you done everying, YOUVE DONE EVERYTHING . No restarting your file over again, you continue playing.

It's a very, very,very cheap move by capcom.

I just really hope that other developers don't do this as well.

Considering the type of game Mercenaries is, it's not THAT bad. I mean, it sucks, but for a game like Mercenaries I would imagine all that would mean is that once you have everything unlocked, you always do. You can still replay every level with every character, and while I'm not too sure how the leveling system works (or upgrading, not too sure what they have) at the worst you won't have the option of powering down your character to make the levels more difficult.

I have already heard, and it's pretty awful....like I've seen on the 'net these last few years, it's true...Crapcom is has become Activision East. :( (Dark knows what's up).

Sadly, they at one time were my favorite company...but after all the DRM in some XBLA/PSN games, stupidly losing talent, the rehashing...and now this, I just am sad. :(

I haven't cared for capcom for years so i'm not really affected by that news but it sucks for their fans. I just hope no one is gonna be dumb enough to do like capcom

watch the sales go down :) personally i dont care cause im sick of capcom and its stupid moves...back in its ps2 days it was awesome, but nowadays i think its just blatantly awful

Sadly, I have a feeling that Capcom would do that.

Also, if they were to do the same for other games such as Megaman Legends 3, then the uproars from consumers (mostly being Megaman fans) will be skyrocketing through the roof.

This is making me reconsider buying a 3DS. This game was one of the main reasons I wanted to buy a 3DS, but after reading this, I don't even want this game anymore.

If only people would stop buying a game used when it is only 5 bucks cheaper new.

Yeah, but that argument could go the other way as well. If only developers would create games that had some replay value, be it in the form of unlockables, extra modes, the ability to create your own content (even if it's just cosmetic stuff).

They are somehow outdoing their DLC in terms of absurdness.

The article made sense while I was reading the used game fighting and stoped making any at the "only one save file" part.

I don't really care about Capcom games, but this is pretty damn stupid.

Can't really blame them. But for those calling Capcom actavistion east it should be said that Activision could be called Capcom of the West. Capcom has been doing stuff like this much longer. HarlockJC

Maybe this whole thing is taken out of context, though I really don't see how else to take it. As it stands, this sounds like you can only play the game you purchased once.

I don't see how that's any kind of solution to fighting used game sales, as the reason the used games market exists is because of poor replay value in games.

Used games do need to be dealt with,however I do not know if this is the right way.

Used games only help individual gamers in the short run. It hurts all of us in the long run.
