Sometimes when my PS3 is playing the screen just goes black for a second, like the digital transmission didn't get through the HDMI to the TV.  Does this happen to anyone else?

This happens to me a few times a week. It happens on RFOM often, and it happened to me on MotorStorm during a race, costing me the win! It is a result of the HDMI "handshake" Meaning the information from the PS3 is lagging behind a little before it gets to the TV.

HATE HDMI!  Why did they come up with this junk solution for pirating?  It's only getting their customers very angry.  I don't have a problem playing games (although rarely I see the screen go black in Motorstorm), but playing movies is AWFUL!  It used to work in the early days that I owned my PS3, but now I keep losing my audio and the video gets choppy too.  It's not worth buying any more Blu-Ray movies for me.   POS

QFT. I'm a gadget guy, but I don't have HD yet. Why?I JUST DON'T GIVE A... despite me having an overclocked PC, two 20 inches next to each other... maxing out graphics all the time... I'm even currently on 1920x1200, on my laptop. but getting an HD TV? zZzZz...

I hear it might be a problem with incompatibilities. I hear some people have trouble playing their PS3 thru HDMI on their TV's......I have no idea though.

I use my HDMI port for my cable box. Never had this problem. Get a better TV or get a better hdmi cable.

Its way better then having to plug in 6 different plugs for component cables.

I hear that you can say "I hear" and provide no fact whatsoever to back it up but it can sound really true.

So your saying its not dumb-proof enough for simpletons to enjoy?

Gimme a break. I got a DVD player when you could kill someone with the player it was so solid. Now they are made of the cheapest plastic and those trays are just a joke. Mass Public means nada.

Their are still bugs in DVD players whats his point? Do some research and you will buy a good product with few bugs. Plus their are no inherant bugs with HDMI so this thread is wrong to begin with.

Wow... coming off a little hostile here already. Look, what I mean to say that HD is NOT ready right now. It's TOO expensive, uneccessary, and pointless for now. We have until 2009 to get HDTVs, thats long enough for me to wait. Besides, many HDTVs have bugs right now. It's like buying a new OP like Vista for example, it's BOUND to have bugs. But later there'll be LESS bugs.

Another thing is, DVD, I know they still have bugs but their cheaper and less bugs. Now, chill out and take a breather. Your acting like my post have touched a nerve.
