.Old wine in new bottle theory ( milking a franchise ).lets see ... Halo, call of duty. No introduction of new IP's
.very short single player games ( many games are over in 5 hours)
.main focus is on multiplayer over single player. multiplayer sucks and gets boring after a while.
.graphics are preference over gameplay.
.unoptimised games (requires frequent patches), shoddy ports
.drm crap which requires you to be frequently online to even enjoy some sp games, you have to be paid member to enjoy multiplayer or download beta demos in some systems.
.DLC crap. a unfinished game costs 60$, pay more 60$ DLC to enjoy a complete game. Expansions from previous gens were better and cheaper.
.Expensive and frequent System Upgrades to enjoy a game
Above all older gen games were much better, lenghtier and highly enjoyable(replayable) such as Return to Castle Wolfenstein (fps), Counter Strike 1.6(mp) , etc.
Only few new IP's are groundbreaking nowadays as The Witcher, Demons/Dark Souls etc.
