Redesigned PS3 to be unveiled at E3!

Apparently Sony's main announcement at E3 will not only be the new "PSPGO" but a slimmer model of the Playstation 3, some say it will come with a larger hard drive as well as Bluetooth 3.0 support and hopefully a $300 price tag. While Sony reps are denying the rumor, Sony today released white and silver Duelshock 3 controllers in preperation for the new systems. A redesigned system along with a lower price tag would give a big sales surge for Sony, and give an incentive to those looking to purchase a new console to lean toward a PS3.

I don't care about the first picture. We've seen that many times before.

The second photo is the one that makes you think they could be unveiling a new PS3. Maybe it's just a different color, but hopefully it's more than that. What was listed in the OP (smaller with a $100 price cut) would be excellent IMO.

The way I would do it, if I were in charge, would be to have a cheaper model without BC and a more expensive model with BC. That way both people who clamor for a cheaper PS3, and people who want to upgrade without having to need a PS2 can be satisfied.

This looks sweet, it almost makes me want to sell my PS3 and get this one :P But if this was cheaper I think it could give sony the boost they need. Except where are the USB ports? They have to be on their somewhere... maybe the back, I hope there are still 4 of them.

The white controller was proven to be a fake, and the PS3 slim is not going to happen for a few years. It wouldn't make any sense.

Ditch the WIFI and throw in a 40 gig HDD...Include KZ2 and MGS4...299.99.... and you have a winner...

Yeah, keep the Wi-fi. I'm planning on buying a PS3 soon and built in wireless would be really nice on future models. I'm just hoping at E3 they'll announce a price drop *crosses fingers*

i'm gonna be skeptacle about this but who know's maybe Sony really is planning this. I was under the impression that redesigns come at the later end of a PS life cycle

A $250 price tag would be even better. Then they could even give Nintendo a run for their money.

I don't care about new models, I just want a massive price cut. :D

I quite like the look of that smaller PS3, but somehow feels too early for this. Still if its true it would be awesome. I hope MS follows suit.
