ummm Does anyone remeber its launch? i did Microsoft spent like 100 million dollars in viral marketing with websites cropping out of no where,like "its coming.."(i was like OMFG ALIEN INVASION!!) and Gorilla marketing with having people to make there own little commercials to win one xbox 360 before launch. Getting mtv to do like 1 billion specials about the xbox 360. then it led up to the launch... With no freakin' sells. it sold like 500K at launch then it jus started selling slow. i remeber sitting at home thinking "...",then i seen the ps2 was eating the 360 alive. i was like the ps2 is beating the 360,a new and more powerful machine. well the gears marketing was better xD! i mean i watched mtv all day jus to see gears hype. like the guy who made gears going against that dude. i was like damn this game is intense. Then he pulled out the chainsaw from under the gun i was like ".... HOLY CRAP!!!" that almost convinced me to get a xbox 360. instead i got a ps2 with Metal Gear solid 3:Snake eater...now i look back and think... getting a ps2 instead of a 360 was a good idea ^^.
I think the only thing you remembered correctly is sitting home thinking "..."
The 360 had a solid launch and I was impressed by Kameo, Peter Jackson's King Kong, Condemned, and NBA 2K6. Those were the first few games I got. I kicked myself for not getting PD:0 until a few months later because its truly a great game.
I was working at a Gamestop during the launch. IMOThe 360 had a shakey launch. Not enough systems, no good games except for COD2 and maybe condemned(We all know that PDZ was a joke, and kameo was mediocre) much like any other consoles launch. The Wii had the best Launch IMO.
I remeber the 360 launch had a lot of negative hype around these boards.It was constantly called the "XFlop 1.5" and its launch games were deemed mediocre.It doesnt look that bad when compared to the Ps3's launch though.
