If mine is ever out of warranty and broke I would jump on this.If you are a gamer and don't have a 36o there is no reason you should not jump on this.

[QUOTE="kuu2"]Unless you aren't actually interested in the games the 360 offers. The system has 800 games, there's always something. Whether it warrants $100 on a refurbished 360 though... who knows. Yeah, there's a reason it's $99. Now if Gamestop gives you a year warranty on it, then that would be a pretty good deal. But if you plan on using it for the next few years, then paying more money for a slim would be a far safer bet:)

There many factors that can come into play according to what he had said. The library itself it big but it's not like it isn't offered elsewhere, not to mention it is refurbished and a 20GB console.
I personally say: meh.:P

Tell me, why would I buy a crap system like the xbox 360 when I own a PS3 and a high end PC?
It's simple. Because maybe one day you decided you wanted to play certain crap games on that crap system, even if you own other systems
Is that so hard to understand bro? Some people like X platform, you like Y platform, and we're all a big happy family.
What he means to say is that people should look at this deal if they don't have a 360, we get it you wouldn't even consider it. You've made your point. Congrats.
On topic: I wouldn't buy an old unit, and the rumors of a Slim price drop after e3 are building up. Any price drop can only help us all have more friends with systems to play with during these last few years of the gen
i would do it as long as gamestop still sells the extended warrenty.
if they don't do the warrenty on it then no way.

What im saying is that any game released on the 360 I can play far better versions of on my PC or PS3. Even exclusives, why would I play **** shooters like Halo when I have SO MANY better shooters I can play on the PC like TF2? The 360 has literally nothing to offer to anyone who owns a PS3 and a high end PC. It will sit and rot. I don't suggest anyone buy it if they own a PC and a PS3.
Theres a local game store where I live where they sell a refurbished 360 for $115 and warranty for 2 years that if your console breaks they fix it for free. Is that something Gamestop does?

How is TF2 a better version of Halo? Why so narrow minded? The system has loads of games, and if you've missed out on it's library then it's nice at this stage to buy it and catch up with the titles cheaper (like I've done with the PS3).[QUOTE="argetlam00"][QUOTE="darth-pyschosis"]

Great for you! I've also played Halo, and an abundance of PC shooters - heck, I own TF2/CS:S etc. What you're stating is an opinion. What if I have played these quality PC shooters, yet I feel Halo deserves a well rewarded mention? Loving the hyperbole here though.Would love to also know why you class it as trash compared to other shooters (I don't give a damn about platform, simply stating "controller" or "no mods" isn't going to change my opinion).

Dude, that's your opinion. Good for you. It is not fact. Also, I am a person who has a PC that can run a lot of these multiplats and I have a PS3, and I prefer to play all those games on my 360.
Whoops! There goes your reasoning! Does that mean I can tell everyone to get a 360? No. But its a good system with some very good games, and I can only suggest that maybe people will have as good a time with a 360 as I have, but that may not always work out.
Maybe people just like the exclusives, or like to play multiplats on 360? It really isn't that hard to understand, and isn't even worth debating. There is a good deal on a 360 purchase, and some people may want to do it, and may enjoy it, for their own reasons.
Just like you have your own reasons not to.
Why is Halo a bad shooter?

Low player count, **** controls (no mouse), small boring maps, horrible community, lack of mods and player based content essential to keep a community alive and fresh, its gameplay is a rehash of all other Halo's before it oh and remember 60 dollar expansion packs like ODST? LOL.

That's my point! As for awesome non shooter exclusives, why not try Forza 3? It's a better game than GT5 and it's sequel is on course to better that too.I hate both Forza and GT games. Only racers I can tolerate are arcade racers like Burnout or offroad like DIRT. Sure those games don't make Halo worse, but there are so many shooters out there better than Halo I see no reason to play it. Thats my point.

Why is Halo a bad shooter?
argetlam00
Low player count, **** controls (no mouse), small boring maps, horrible community, lack of mods and player based content essential to keep a community alive and fresh, its gameplay is a rehash of all other Halo's before it oh and remember 60 dollar expansion packs like ODST? LOL.
The player count reflects Halo's gameplay fine - there is no reason for 64 players if the game doesn't require it. Halo would suck. Controls are absolutely fine (I told you a mouse is not essential for me to enjoy games) and are responsive - better than a lot of console shooters. Lack of mods is because it's on a console, but there is a wealth of playerbased content (it's one of the things that 3/Reach strives on). Masses of player created modes and maps - lending themselves well to the gameplay and often being pushed in to the matchmaking playlists by Bungie. Varying amounts of game modes are on there anyway. The gameplay in Reach and 3 is different - anyone who has played either extensively could tell you this. And even if it wasn't - it's an FPS with a formula that works..what do you want? Halo Golf? And I didn't buy ODST, but it outscored a lot of PS3 exclusives here so it can't have been bad, eh? ;]To be honest I haven't really been playing games that often recently - I just don't restrict myself. And no, you just listed a lot of games on PC that are in the same genre and are also critically acclaimed. That takes NOTHING away from Halo and it's positive reception. I've played BC2 on console (liked it), don't mind if it runs/controls better on a PC I've enjoyed the core gameplay. I have TF2 - it's enjoyable. I have CS:S - fun but steep learning curve puts me off. L4D2 (and 1) i have on console - and absolutely love it, fantastic games. You must have ALOT of time to play games. Shooters on PC I would rather be playing than any console shooter: Bad Company 2 (SO MUCH better on PC), TF2, CSS, Left 4 Dead 2 (so much better on PC), ARMA II (still gotta buy that), STALKER, Crysis. Heck thats this this gen alone that I play in PC shooters. I can also go back and enjoy last gen masterpieces like Battlefield II and Unreal Tournament 2004, both of which are far superior than any console shooter this gen (heck any PC shooter this gen as well outside of TF2). On top of this, 2 epic PC games are coming out within this year: Battlefield 3 and Red Orchestra Stalingrad. Even MORE time to sink in playing shooters.
Oh and just to let you know, shooters aren't my favourite genre. I love RTS games like Starcraft II.I practice that for hours daily trying to get better at it. Thats a huge time sink.and awesome RPG. Witcher 2 is probably the best RPG this gen, comparable only to a heavily modded Fallout 3 which can only be experienced on PC. I basically use my 360 only for PS3/360 games I rarely get interested in like LA Noire or awesome PS3 non-shooter exclusives that the 360 so severely lacks. So unless you literally don't ever sleep. the PS3/PC combination has so many titles that make playing 360 games utterly worthless.

Shame you sold your 360 then, you'd have loved PGR4.Anyone who buys a refurbished "fat" 360 will deserve what they will inevitably get.... a run to the store to buy another one.
a refurbished original Xbox360 = 2-6 month red ring Xbox. so for me no thankshiryu3
Depends when it was made. If it was a 2009 or 2010 unit before the Slim, then its still under 3 year RRoD warranty and that's not a bad deal
take it back if it was really a few days ago they have return policies for used consoles at gamestop. Please tell me you're joking. I just bought a 20gb used Xbox 360 from Gamestop a few days ago for $150.
I could have saved 50 dollars!

Tell me, why would I buy a crap system like the xbox 360 when I own a PS3 and a high end PC?
argetlam00
It's simple. Because maybe one day you decided you wanted to play certain crap games on that crap system, even if you own other systems
Is that so hard to understand bro? Some people like X platform, you like Y platform, and we're all a big happy family.
What he means to say is that people should look at this deal if they don't have a 360, we get it you wouldn't even consider it. You've made your point. Congrats.
On topic: I wouldn't buy an old unit, and the rumors of a Slim price drop after e3 are building up. Any price drop can only help us all have more friends with systems to play with during these last few years of the gen
I don't suggest anyone buy it if they own a PC and a PS3.
this is blatent fanboism, i own a high end gaming pc, and a ps3, and still find things that xbox offers, games like alan wake, forza, halo (TF2 is a **** shooter), banjo kazooie nuts and bolts, there's plenty of fun to be had on this system[QUOTE="darth-pyschosis"]
