I would call myself a hard core gamer, and I play the Wii. All the time. And before anyone calls me a casual gamer for that... I bet there are alot of people that haven't played Baldur's Gate here, huh? Or Asheron's Call. ;) A true hardcore gamer would prefer all types of games.
I'm too afraid of not buying a Wii. Reggie may kick my ass and take my name.braydee1234It's better than me stealing your name and selling it on ebay. I'm so sneaky you wouldn't even know it happened until you saw it for sale. I consider myself hardcore and I own a Wii.

Yeah seriously, cause the 360 and PS3 aren't profit machines for M$ OR Sony either. They are here just for us...
Yeah seriously, because Microsoft and Sony are losing millions (if not billions) in the video game business. The Xbox barely became profitable last year after 5 years, while Sony loses $200 a PS3. All Nintendo does is overclock GameCube hardware, put it in a case, adds a gimmicky controller to hide the fact it's primitive and a GameCube, overcharges it by making it $250 and refuses to release games.

Nothing can be a system seller until supply exceeds demand for the Wii. No game can sell more consoles than Nintendo ships.

I hate that comeback, that they are losing out in the hardware departmnent. In the end they make money, with software and overpriced add-ons. What's up with a wi-fi add-on for 100$ US 130$ CAN. And a 120$ external drive for 180$ US? Of course they sell it for less, no one will buy a 800$ console.
Your a fool if you think M$ and Sony aren't looking for profit.

Nintendo: decides to atleast make money on their hardware because they are taking a risk by going a different route. They also sell most of their games for 10$ less 15$ less in Canada.
All of the companies want profit and their systems are their own profit machines, why doesn't M$ and Sony just give away their systems for free if you think otherwise.
It's actually quite cute to see such potent theory still exists in SW. I should give you a shiny star for effort. Seriously, if losing money is the ethic do you think that's healthy for the industry, let alone the companies losing millions (if not billions)?Microsoft: Lost $4 billion with the Xbox

I'm not saying Nintendo should lose money, but the Wii is simply overpriced. They repackage a GameCube, and try to say it's different cause you can wail your arms around, and sell it for $250? If it was $150 that would be fine but $250 is outrageous. And please don't say "Well people are buying them lol!!" Yes I know that.

Yet another post that abandons all logic. If the Wii is at least twice as powerful as the GC, then how is it a repackaged GC?

Overclocked or not, it's still basically a GC. Only a very few games look better than a GC game anyways, if that (such as Galaxy but even then the GC/Xbox had games that looked better).

Games have always been the same price, in fact they have been going down in price since the NES. This generation the PS3 and 360 have some games 10$ more expensive than last gen. It isn't because it's cheaper to make Wii games.
Also the Wii isn't overpriced, it's over priced compared to M$ and Sony's strategy. I can go to Walmart and buy a blender, and that blender is over priced using your logic, because it's being sold for more than it's worth. But that's business buddy.

Of course it's cheaper to make Wii games... this is not even worth arguing about. But anyways $59 is still too much for games.
The Wii is sold way more than its worth, however. It's a $99 GameCube with a $40 Wiimote... $170 its worth at the most. The NES, SNES, N64 and GC all launched for $199 and were either more powerful or on level with its competitors...
It won't sell for $599 too, as evidenced by the sales. Fact is Sony isn't making profit off the PS3, excuses or not.

99$ Gamecube

Of course it's cheaper to make Wii games... this is not even worth arguing about. But anyways $59 is still too much for games.
The Wii is sold way more than its worth, however. It's a $99 GameCube with a $40 Wiimote... $170 its worth at the most. The NES, SNES, N64 and GC all launched for $199 and were either more powerful or on level with its competitors...
It won't sell for $599 too, as evidenced by the sales. Fact is Sony isn't making profit off the PS3, excuses or not.
I hate that, when people seem to know how much it costs for a Wii. But okay, i'll use your logic...
99$ Gamecube
40$ Wiimote
20$Nunchuk
100$ Wi-fi (like the 360...)
10$ Wii Sports
269.99, look Nintendo loses 20 bucks of their console...happy?
Give it up, your arguing to me that Nintendo a company is evil for trying to make profit...I don't disagree with you, but every company in the world is evil then. Heck, gamespot charges for subscribers, teh overpriced!
The Xbox 360 premium costs $323, do you really think the Wii would cost $270 to manufacturer? $170 AT THE MOST and that's pushing it.
Like I said, all I did was use your logic.
