this thread really isn't fair because Blizzard hasn't released an RTS in over 5 years. Anyways they are both great, though I prefer Blizzard's offerings. senses_fail_06
Well that's their fault. Relic doesn't need 6 years in order to come out with a fantastic RTS.

It does need more years of u want to ensure ppl are gonna play it online years and years after its release with a very strong community. U cant say this for any game, i cant come up with any.

well blizzard definitely take their time in releasing games, but they are not a RTS only devoloper
Blizzard's RTS games are definitely more friendly to the system than Relic's from what I can tell. :PHexagon_777Company of Heroes is really fantastically optimized. Can play on Nvidia's 6000 series with good performance. You get like 300+ FPS with current hardware.

To be honest, Red Alert 3 looks better than both Dawn of War II and Starcraft II. :?yellowandmushyI dislike C&C games.
Company of Heroes/Daw of War>>>>>>>>>Starcraft
Especially since W40K owns Starcraft

I know. Starcraft was supposed to be an expansion for the Warhammer universe if I remember correctly.

This is Red Alert 3:
This is Dawn of War II:
This is Starcraft II:
But we all know the RTS graphics king anyway:
Empire: Total War. Just beautiful.
Company of heroes poops over starcraft jaisimar_chelse
Yup
Trying to flank tanks and building blockades for killzones is a lot more tactical than Zergling rushes any day.

It all boils down to building a bigger army than your opponent.

Not always, if you dont deversify your army, you leave yourself up with a ton of weaknesses.

No, you invest all your money into building multipules of one single structure such as Factory's, Gateways, Stargates, ect. Spam one kind of unit (dragoon, Mutalisk, Golith) and hope to god that your oponent does not have (signifigant) numbers of the counter varity of unit. And those cases are rare such as Valkaries since they are a single purpose unit. If they do have the counter varity, refit your unit builders into building something else such as Seige Tanks, Hydrolisks, Zerglings, Templars, or Zelots and repeat.

Mass units can be easily countered by a few well placed lurkers, reavers, firebats, seiged tanks, antiair units, and so forth. Use a mix of Pyonic Storm, Swarm, Freeze, or so called abilities. You can to various things to prevent such occurences. Without a little variety, things can easily fall apart. It may not be the most complex game, but certianly you have to put a little more thought in it than that.
For me Relic knocked out Blizzard with Dawn Of War, I've got it with all the expansions and its absolutely massive, well balanced, and very playable. I was hoping that WC3 will be a great game, well it is, but it didn't quite live up to the standard nowadays. I still hope that SC2 will regain supremacy in RTS, but on the other hand, beating even the first DOW will be a tough challenge, and DOW2 is coming ...kc666
Dawn of war isn't balanced.
because games like Homeworld and Company of Heroes have earned there spot with those 2 gamesYou have two of the best RTSs ever, so why wouldnt it be Blizzard.
Starcraft and Warcraft.
ArisShadows

Yeah, I know, I played both those games and own the whole series of COH, but neither gave me the amount of time and enjoyment put into said games.

Ewwwww, no it doesnt, its just another generic C&C , the beta was appauling aswell, no doubt itl get alot of attention for be C&C though :S
I'd take Empire : Total War over all.[QUOTE="yellowandmushy"]To be honest, Red Alert 3 looks better than both Dawn of War II and Starcraft II. :?PC360Wii

now now, C&C was the first game to allow control of dogs, TW tried to copy but they could never live up mass production kennels and dog rushes (wtf is a zerg).
to insult such a game is blasphemy, as its more entertaining than all of your "serious" games with there lame units without time travel and cyborg commandos, wtf is up with that.
