The new game, codenamed “Project 7” (P7) is a cinematic third person action game set in a new Remedy-created universe. Featuring an intriguing story and a game structure offering a long-lasting experience, P7 contains the deepest game mechanics yet in a Remedy game. The game is built on Remedy’s proprietary Northlight® technology.

Great news. Remedy are best third person developers ever. cant wait for this new project and with no microsoft involve its going to be amazing once again.

Good news that they've found a new partner. Hopefully this game is successful, so same publisher can fund Alan Wake 2 as well. I just hope that this game will be better than Quantum Break.

Good that this game will be multiplat instead of Xbox 360 (alan wake) or Xbox One/windows 10 (Quantum Break) exclusive.

I think those exclusivities really ended up hurting those games and they could've sold way better, and more people should be able to play Remedy games.

@ghosts4ever: And if the game fails who do we blame then, surely not Remedy, it would be 505's fault right?

Max payne 1 was greatest TPS of all time. even better than craps like uncharted and Gears.

Alan wake was better than resident evil and any other horror game at that time

quantum break is alright game and i take it over cover based shooters like gears even thought its worst remedy game.

Thank god Sony doesn't have their hands in this. The game would end up being a walking simulator, or Sony would just close down Remedy studios.

I finished American Nightmare. Got 7 of the 12 achievements. I got 39 out of the 67 achievements for Alan Wake and the DLC (and finished the game). I have the limited edition with the book. Best game Remedy has ever made, and I am glad they still want to bring Alan Wake 2 to the Xbox. I loved the Alan Wake easter eggs in Quantum Break.

Loved Alan Wake and the dlc + expansions, I also really enjoyed Quantum Break as well, so more people being able to play Remedies games is a great thing for all of us. Really good move.

My point was that you said in your first post that it was going to be amazing again, like they used to do. But the business setup from Alan Wake (which you thought was the best horror game of its time), is exactly the same as the one from QB. So Microsoft's influence doesn't mean that a game will be better, or worse. Remedy is just a hit-and-miss studio.

Yeah me too, huge fan of Alan Wake. Finished it on both Xbox One and then PC (plus the PC version came with the DLC)

I have the limited edition PC version of Quantum Break that came with the Blu-ray with a making of and the OST CD. Still listen to that in my car a lot, the music in Alan Wake is pretty awesome too:

microsoft has anti consumer policy and that windows 10 exclusive crap which lead to make steam version later. they treat PC gamers as second class citizen and put most of effort for killing PC gaming.

Beside QB is indeed better game than gears of war but still it could have been better. it should not have stupid live action episode.

Is it true that if you die in a bossfight you have to restart the level from beginning. Is the checkpoints really that bad?

I've always kind of suspected that the goofy TV stuff in Quantum Break was about Microsoft pushing the TV studio/org it was trying to build (before everyone laughed at it and MS shut it down).

And I DEFINITELY blame Microsoft for not continuing Alan Wake.

So I hope for good things here.

MS just like any other company is looking at products to make them money. If a company only made products that didn't make money just how long do you think they would stay in business? I really liked Alan Wake but it didn't sell well enough to continue. IMO, Smart Business Decision!

Alan Wake is an example of why Microsoft has so few real franchise IP - and hence why they really so much on Gears, Halo, and Forza.

Everything has to be a 5M+ sales mega hit during the first month. Or it gets thrown away.

Also why we probably won't ever get SSOD 2, though we really should.

@jv303: So if MS is to blame for Alan Wake 2 not existing, why aren't they making Alan Wake 2 now? With a different partner? This is all on Remedy and they can kiss my ass for not developing an Alan Wake sequel. You're an anti MS bitch like half the people on these forums. Grow up.

I think I heard online Remedy's next game is suppose to have some sort of online features where you play with or against fans. So I do not believe this is the type of game single player fans are hoping for.

The first Max Payne is one of my very favorite games. I played it during a time where I had it in my head to be a filmmaker and, as a new cinephile, I was obsessed with noir.

Glad these guys are making games for all of us again instead of making dumb exclusivity deals with Microsoft that backfire on them.

They believe anything and every thing that Kaz and Sony feeds them. They sit at the trough waiting for Sony to fill it with BS, and then they lap it up.

Always interested in a Sam Lake story, because he can, usually write some fun characters, but it be nice if the gameplay wasn't mediocre. Because Alan Wake and Quantum Break are wildly unimpressive when it comes to their gameplay n systems. No sense of interplay between the individual mechanics, no eye for proper variation or inventive encounter designs, and the story it self becomes more intrusive the further the game goes. Max Payne was plenty cinematic, and yeah it isn't a game known for its variety, but that shooting engine is still ace to this day.

@oflow: What? That exclusivity deals with Microsoft backfire on almost everyone? They do.

Quantum Break and Alan Wake. Ryse. Rise of the Tomb Raider. Sunset Overdrive. Recore.

The only exception I can think of is Playground with the Forza Horizon games.
