Remember when people made fun of MGS4's subpar graphics?

I remember people on these forums (mostly 360 fanboys of course) continuously pointing out how average and poor the graphics for MGS4 were going to be. Now that the game is out,,, they were proved completely wrong. Its easily one of the best looking console games ever made

I have no clue what you are talking about. That is because I have a 360 and I have never play a MGS, well I have played a Microsoft Game Studio game. Well good for you and enjoy. I think there is nothing but haters and negetive people in this section.

I still thinks it looks just alright. There are a bunch of bad textures in the game. Definitely far from the most impressive thing on consoles. Critics were surviving on hype alone. Some said it was the best of the best on consoles, some said it looked better or as good as Crysis. :roll: These are the people we laugh at. BioShockOwnz

Seriously, Metal Gear Fever is making some PS3 fan-boys delirious!

It is a great looking game. Though from a techincal perspective I think Uncharted beats it. Then again with MGS4 it isn't ALL about the graphics. The music, the atmosphere and the voice acting all merge together and create something beautiful.

The only graphical glitch I've found is the flickering shadows but that isn't a big deal. At least there isn't screen tearing like there is in other PS3 games...

i still think assasins' is the graphic king for consoles.

but mgs4 aint far behind.

best graphics i've seen on a console really, it ain't no crysis but it has it's jaw dropping moments too.thejakel11225

Bingo. GEARS has better textures but it looks like crap compared to MGS4. Noobs must understand textures are not everything.

Now it's time to be honest with yourself and myself, and the entire SW's community, and honestly, MGS4 is not the best looking game. I could see if you have some SDTV that doesn't accurately portray the lazy texture work, but on my HDTV, this game isn't king. Sorry.

Yeah. There are some low-res textures but overall the texture art and diversity stunning. Especially considering how big the game is.

Funny because on my HDTV, MGS4 is king. And lazy texture work? The texture design and implementation is amazing (not to mention more varied than almost any game I've ever played). Some low-res textures don't ruin the overall graphical package. Whatever happened to lighting, animation, character/object models, level design, and particle effects.

If you (in general) complain about anything it should be the fire effects which IMO is the least impressive of the visuals.

I have the game, and graphics are totally mediocre, the levels are empty bar some grass blades, it is so funny, those graphics are 7/10 max

And I agree with you. All those games are more visually impressive. R&C: ToD is very overlooked in the graphical department. It's a great looking game, especially the first level.

Hmm...fishy. You know BioShock, I remember debating with you last year and you said that Halo 3 was better than MGS4 (well before it even came out, kinda unfair :?). Period. Not the exact quote, but it came directly after the GS review. I'm sure you like MGS4, but not as much as your review/rating makes it out to see.

Actually, I don't like Halo 3. Probably just backing up the review from the fanboy horde that trashed Gamespot and said they were bribed. Many lems here know how much I don't like Halo 3, even if it's a good game.

And I do, personally, think the PS3 is more powerful than the 360. I do believe that PS3 will excel over the 360 in this regard. But I wouldn't be so blind as to say that 360 will never have a title look as good as MGS4. I wouldn't even be so blind to say that PS3, for sure, will hold an edge in graphics.

My point? I can have my opinion on this as much as I want and you can to. But stating unknowns as fact, especially in a boastful manner like yours, is nothing but a drag on these forums.
