Neither.

On one hand we got an overpriced product which we dont know if itll end up a gimmick way to play video games let alone that imho its too early for it hardware wise

On the other a console that its not even out yet let alone that rumors saying it wont be better than X1 hardware wise.

No , no and no. for both

I'm personally waiting to see what Polaris and Pascal bring to the table before making any hardware decisions.

I'm leaning towards Nintendo's NX this year and will get into VR next year.

I say wait and see instead of buying in to these things before they've been proven. You'll just end up paying a lot of money, being disappointed and then trading them away for something else. Save your money for now and have some patience.

I agree whole heartedly, i will wait until E3 and see exactly what the Nintendo NX is all about and what games it has to offer as well as hardware power and 3rd party support....The VR is not a proven innovation yet, it may just be a fly by night gimmick like the Wii's motion controls.

Well, I say wait until VR is out. It may end up being a paradigm shift in the long run, but these first generation products will be slow on the uptake to begin with. Wait until it is out, when the reviews and impressions are out, and you know exactly what it is you are buying into.

There is also the fact that we don't quite know what the NX is right now- you are making a decision blind for the time being. My advice, then, is to just wait till we at least know what the NX is- you can then decide which product you want to spend your money on.

@AzatiS: I like how you downplay the NX by saying that there are rumors it wouldn't be as powerful as Xbox 1, ignoring the rumors that claim it's more powerful than the PS4.

Reserve PSVR now. When E3 comes around decide if you'd rather have the NX. If so either preorder the NX as well or cancel your PSVR preorder and change it to an NX preorder.

I dont downplay anything , its Nintendo we speaking for. Wii and Wii U are fine examples of what rumor to believe and what not. Also which rumors makes sense to you , a one that surfaced a month ago or a one almost a year ago ?

Whatever the case , i wont buy a Nintendo console if they wont give me some kind of quarantee that will support the system up to next gen. I refuse to spend money on a system with limited life. Thats why i go with renting. Besides i dont like all Nintendo exclusives , in fact noone like all exclusives of each individual platform therefore the library is so limited , why to even be bothered. For NX i need to see its official reveal , specs , 3rd parties , 1st parties , multiplayer aspect and price to decide.

As for PSVR , i wont even consider to spend more than 400$ for it , if i ever go with VR will be on PC simply because of hardware prowress. But if you ask me , even on PC i think we need at least 2-3 years for VR to be viable if itll ever be. This is too early so i want fall for what Sony trying to do.

And mark my words , it wont do as good as Sony thinks.

Pre-order? Neither. Wait and see approach for both.

But even as someone that lately has loved PS, and been disgusted with Nintendo - I would easily lean towards an all new console over VR. I expect VR to end up like motion controls or 3D blu-ray at home. Something cool in small bunches, but in no way can it be the norm or something you want to do all the time.

I don't know why people feel the need to be day 1 buyers. They usually get burn.

If I had money to burn on either I'd go with PSVR, I've little faith in the NX amounting to anything in the near future. If anything I'll jump on board before its a corpse to pick up the few games that are worth playing.

Definitely not the PSVR. Not until it's proven itself. Same for NX actually. So you can't say either yet.

Chances are I'll eventually get the NX because god damn it I like Nintendo games so I have to buy their shitty box, whatever it may be.

No interest in PSVR though.

One is pretty much guaranteed to have great games.

The other is pretty much guaranteed to be dropped by Sony after a few months.

pre-ordered the PS VR, I can always cancel it... Nintendo is known to delay the launch of their consoles, I'm doubting we'd see it this year, if we do it'll be just before or after x-mas and by then I'd had recovered from buying the PS VR and will get it to. So short answer, both!

Well you can't go wrong with either since both are particularly bad options at the moment.

PSVR is bs. Pre order an unproven concept? Sony needs to show exactly why it's worth it with software that entices the purchase.
