Its been announced for quite some time. For RE4, its just the Wii version in 720p. If you want better graphics you have to get the PC version. It'll probably be stuck at 30FPS like the rest of the games too. I like to link pics to it because I was amazed how better it looked after some mods:P Some might think its not a big difference, but in game it really is.

If they did that it would take away from what the game is IMO.i hope they update the controls to play like a regular 3rd person game.
KBFloYd
You mean change. Update would mean that thats how 3rd person games were controlled back then. Max Payne and all the other tps games that came before RE 4 allowed the player to move and shoot. Its a design decision.i hope they update the controls to play like a regular 3rd person game.

And the PC version is a port of the PS2 version, which looks worse:?Is there seriously people out there who are going to buy RE4 at this point that haven't already?
Did RE5 really bomb that hard that Capcom has to rerelease old games yet again?
re5 was horrid...so much potential..but capcom can't evolve...expecially since the man behind RE4 left...need shinji MIkami back to do RE6 and fix it.Is there seriously people out there who are going to buy RE4 at this point that haven't already?

Nope, but if there's one thing people have proven lately, it's that they're willing to pay money again for a game they already own but with slightly sharper edges. Is there seriously people out there who are going to buy RE4 at this point that haven't already?

And with achievements. Not to mention i don't own RE4 anymore, i palyed it multiple times but got rido f it when i sold the Gamecube/PS2. RE4 is one of the best games of the last 10 years, who cares if it's re-released? They are re-relasing Halo, why not RE4? Also RE5 didnd't bomb, but it was th worst game in the series for sure.Is there seriously people out there who are going to buy RE4 at this point that haven't already?

It only builds on top of the PS2 version which lost a lot in translation. Updgrading the textures and throwing in some lighting doesnt change that. Besides, the sound is worse too.[QUOTE="soapandbubbles"][QUOTE="ZIMdoom"]re5 was horrid...so much potential..but capcom can't evolve...expecially since the man behind RE4 left...need shinji MIkami back to do RE6 and fix it. If you ask me, the biggest problem is that there has been like 10 RE games and yet the story has literally not progressed one inch beyond what was presented in the first game. There is only so many times that you can rehash the same idea, updated with graphics or more action, and expect people to care that there is no story.

You forgot the most important aspect, horror. IT was a glorified Gears of war Rip off thats my issue too, keep in mind Epic borrowed a bit from RE4 with gears..so somehow Capcom wanted to the same, not knowing how much it killed RE5. mind boggling...i don't know how some of these guys are developers...oh and i forgot to add the POINTLESS cover system in RE5....totally f'en pointless.

I actually liked RE5. It was a great game to play witha human friend and something a little different.

Which Ubisoft patched in the GC differences. And mine is heavily modded and looks a hell of a lot better than the HD port.
Excellent news, I did not know about this.RE4 is still the game to beat in the TPS genre imo.themyth01Too bad the control scheme is horrible.

Did people really have a problem with the controls? They are incredibly easy to use.
The Wii version is just perfect, I don't need yet another version of this game.Rod90Technically the PS3 version with Move support would be a much better version of the Wii version, with HD support, improved graphics, and 1:1 controls... So yeah, I don't see how the Wii version is "perfect" by any logic...

Well for one you shouldn't have to stop moving to aim your gun in any shooter game... and you shouldn't have to pause the game just to switch your weapon.[QUOTE="ChubbyGuy40"][QUOTE="Messiahbolical-"] Too bad the control scheme is horrible.Messiahbolical-

Well for one you shouldn't have to stop moving to aim your gun in any shooter game... and you shouldn't have to pause the game just to switch your weapon. For one, it was trying to retain some kind of horror. Move and shooting means ACTSHUN which is what people complained ruined RE5 (Which was a great game on its own.) It doesn't fit a real Resident Evil game, hence why they added it to Mercenaries to shut people up. Its not an FPS, its not run and gun. People hated on both games for not being something they wern't trying to be.
And pausing to switch weapons is a staple in RE. Its been there since the first. Again, its not an FPS.
been announced for a while now.. still good news i guess.. campzor
It'd be real nice if they added a date to that announcement though :)
Am I actually expected to believe that the people who have already passed up numerous chances to play RE4 already (GC, PS2, Wii) are suddenly going to rush out and buy it because it is going to be on PS3 and 360? There is like 250 million consoles soldand 2 gens between those 3 consoles...but maybe releasing it yet AGAIN will really move units?

From what I remember they just patched the lighting and shaders which were nonexistant in Euro and Asia releases and broken in those versions patches and US retail version. I doubt they could patch the lower poly count the PS2 version had, I believe it also had worse sound quality.
I don't think they care what you believe. People will buy it as has been demonstrated by the trilogy releases on PS3 already.Am I actually expected to believe that the people who have already passed up numerous chances to play RE4 already (GC, PS2, Wii) are suddenly going to rush out and buy it because it is going to be on PS3 and 360? Hell I'll buy it again myself. I bought it on GC, didn't like the change in game style and never got around to playing it. Now that I've played RE5 and enjoyed it I'll gladly purchase another copy on PS3 to see what all the hype is about. Sure beats getting out an old console to play it.
People love that game and I'm sure many of them will buy it cheap rather than dig out their old copies so they can relive the goodness. Plus the online coop and trophies/achievements will probably suck a lot back in.

Even if that was true, there were multiple high-res texture packs made such as the ones I have installed and they reskinned everything. You can import models from damn near anywhere too. Someone made their own Duke Nukem mod  Also sounds? Sound mods that increase the volume and/or a completely new sound file. Guns in RE4 sounded WEEAAAAK. Now they have kick and oomph to them and its really nice! And they are WAV/320kbps MP3 files so its top-notch. Also even found a new music/ambience sound files and wow, they should hire the guy that did it. He brought a more RE2-like atmosphere with his sounds.
This just upsets me even more. IS IT SO HARD TO MAKE RE 1-2-3 remakes?
Fizzman
Lets learn 3d modeling and animation, and how to use UDK. We'll create our own RE2 remake and then have Capcom sell it!
