I can think of no other game that looks better then Resident Evil 5. It has the best looking gameplay, story, and of course the eye candy to pick it all up and a developer known for quality, Capcom.
Will we see a GOTY from this game? Many action games that Gamespot reviews are compared to Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil 4 is seen as somewhat of a paragon of action horror done right. Resident Evil 5 takes this formula and does what they believes to perfect it. They've adressed all the issues of Reisident Evil 4 (apart from angry old fans who liked the old ones better) and improved. Online co-op is amazing as well and of course they brought back Wesker and Chris Redfield, thats a win.

RE4 was released in January and didn't it win GOTY award at GS? and a lot of god games came out in 05 such as Jade Empire, God of War, Shadow of the Colossus and Okami
Yeah I'd say it has a pretty good chance of being next year's GOTY. But, then again, it does have some pretty strong competition in God Of War III, Final Fantasy XIII and Bioshock 2: Sea Of Dreams.
nah, this game plays too similiar to re4. It's stupid how you still can't move while shooting. There are other ways to increase the tension without limiting your player in such a dumb way

I wouldn't count on it yet, the game definately needs a lot of work to be relative to the success that RE4 was. So far it looks like a solid copy and paste job. :?
It won't be one of my contenders either way, especially after playing the mess that is RE4.

In my opinion it won't surpass re4(capcom has been this way this gen, dmc4 anyone?) Chris looks like a hulk(gears of war), the game has two characters(gears of war) and go through the entire game together(again gears of war). If anyone has seen the trailers: SOMBIEZ IN MOTOCYCLES YEAH!!!...NOT!?. there won't be a classic trademark of re that is the menu, now it's just done with the d-pad(...Gears of war, sorry I had to do it). You won't even feel as badass as re4 because you won't be kicking ass alone( I blame gears of war) and because of that it won't feel as tense or scary as re4. All this comming from a classic re fan who also loved re4

Was RE4 not released early on in the year?
Maybe it was, I'm not sure but that is why I put "generally." Obviously there are going to be exceptions but usually big games come out later in the year that overshadow the games that come out so early.
i hope so, RE5 is my favrourite and most aticipated title. But kinda afraid that reviewers will be harder on it due to NOT being able to move on shoot and see it more as a true action title, which it ISN'T.
I like not moving and shooting, these enemies don't have guns and stoping and shooting creates more tension for the player.
