How would you feel about RE5 being remade do you think it's worth a remake? or should Capcom stop with RE4?

Would rather have a Code Veronica remake.
Yeah, I agree that game is more deserving of a remake.
Would rather have a Code Veronica remake.
Code Veronica doesn't need a remake, its the best RE game, so its fine the way it is.
Remaking the game that f*ckup the series for 10 years? No. Please not.
But RE7 has only been out for a few years.

Funny you say this, i have literally seen dozen upon dozen of people saying the same thing before RE2R came out. Its only not "needed" before a properly remade game comes out, and then when its out, you will ask yourself why it took them this long to remake whichever title.

Nope, i haven't bought any RE remake, i like the nostalgia i have with old games. The sad part is that gamers are starting to think everything needs a remake. How about stop living off of the past and come up with a sequel or something new, its like with every generation devs get less talented, that or all the good old devs retired.

I am not the one for remasters/remakes, but you know there will be many in the future, so if they do rerelease a game, it better be a remake and a remake of a good game.

lol we're talking about RE5 not 7.
Nope, i haven't bought any RE remake...
In case of RE2R, you're really missing out, though.
I had my doubts too (before I bought it), but they did the game from ground up and did it properly. My only nitpick would be Claire's facial animations/acting in most of the cutscenes.
She just looks and talks like she's spacing out, ffs... xD
@SOedipus: I guess Im missing something as that looks a lot like the RE5 we got?
Uhh yeah you did. Solo play, way more enemies, the tone is totally different. I love RE5 but I was also disappointed how it turned out as well. I was expecting the game they originally showed us in the early trailers. Then we got a forced coop, arcade style RE.
While I’m not particularly asking for a Resident Evil 5 Remake I would in all likelihood buy it. The remake that I want the most next is Resident Evil 4. I wouldn’t mind a Code Veronica X remake either.
Nah. The remakes should only be for games with the classic gameplay. I’ll give an exception for RE4 because it was revolutionary for its time. Plus it’s already being worked on.
I really hate what Capcom did to Chris, Jill and Wesker character as the series went on. A shame really...
@SOedipus:
Damn, yeah I remember being mega hype over that trailer. That, the first MGS4 trailer, and FFXIII all looked insane. Gen 7 looked like it was gonna be crazy.
Then none of them stacked up to their early showings, and each of them was a lesser game than their gen 6 predecessor lol.

Oh yeah, on topic. Eh, RE5 still looks and plays well. Not something I really want, and unless it's significantly improved, probably won't care.

Geez, i'm saying that 7 ruined the franchise by going first person, while 5 was just ok, putting it in first person just kills it for me.

RE7 save the franchise otherwise we knew how RE6 was. franchise was killed off.
RE8 looks so amazing.

I enjoyed all the games back in the day and last gen, while some i thought were ok like 3, 4 & 5 i don't think they need to be remade into this gen games, destroys the magic of the OG games.
Now the ones i love 1, 2 & the best one of them All don't need to be remade as i said they lose their magic, the whole no shooting and running, static camera angles etc all made the games harder and made the games more intense.

The issue i have is they destroy the nostalgia of the game, i don't care for graphics as i've been gaming for over 30yrs so that whole "graphics king" nonsense is just child's play, so updating the graphics is meh to me.
The worst remake is without a doubt FF7, its shameless that they make a quarter of a game fill it with filler and sell it at full price, and people (cows) at that shit up.
Developers find a way for milk everything in gaming these days, there are very few that are worth the time.

FPS didn't really ruined the franchise. The issue with 7 wasn't that its in first person but the fact that there were zero enemies variety and the boat part was 2/10 worthy. Its RE5 that ruined the series. Everything that came after it was garbage. Sure its RE4 that began the action oriented RE, but at least RE4 was a great game.

Superior grahics is atmosphere which feeds directly into gameplay. In atmosphere heavy titles, they're important. Is a good game bad because of meh visuals? No, but the same game can certainly be much better with good visuals.

5 wasn't that bad, your AI controlled chick (Shiva i think her name was) was annoying as hell calling for help all the time. 4 felt like i was playing the game in horde mode at times as they just kept popping out of nowhere
7 doesn't even look like a RE game, from the videos i saw it looked like a bunch of psycho's running around and no zombies from what i saw, and first person just kills it as you can no longer see your character which takes the personality out of the game as now you see hands.

Nah, everything doesn't need to be "superior graphics" in a zombie game, dark and gloomy with fog etc sets a better atmosphere as its what you can't see or barely make out things in the foreground, and that makes you do a double/triple take or for you to get a closer look, having "superior graphics" where you can see everything kills the mood for me.
@i_p_daily: I played the hell out of RE5 back when it came out. But i would not call it a proper RE game. It felt like a coop shooter made for you to rush through levels for leaderboard scores.
RE7 didn't feel like a RE game either. Its more Outlast-like than a RE game, but its not because the game is in first person. In the first part of the game where you're dealing with the family, the atmosphere was spot on, but all you're doing is running away and hiding, and that's not very RE. The second part of the game was so f*cking bad i don't know what its even doing in the game. And i don't care if the lore says so, but having just one enemy design is sooooooo bad for the actual gameplay.
From what was shown of RE8, it seems like RE4 in first person, with more exploration/bigger levels and less dumb action. That's good in my book.

Shit 7 sounds worse than i though, no wonder casual4ever likes it, total trash.
8 looks like more of the same with Werewolves and shit, and again takes all the personality out of it with first person.
As for 5, well i don't remember a lot, i just checked and i played it on the 360 back in March 09. I just kinda remember the bad parts.
