Resident Evil 5 Vs. Dead Space

Which one do you think is better and why? I personally can't stand resident evil's controls and it wasn't particularly scary. I thought dead space had a good sense of atmosphere and had controls which were well thought out.

RE5 wasnt scary at all but Dead Space was helluva scary game imo. i think both were fantastic games and i dont mind RE5s stop to shoot system at all.

Well I could finish dead space but RE5 bored me to tears.. gonna go with dead space.

Dead Space had better weapons, better atmosphere, better upgrade system, better combat, cooler monsters, zero-g...

RE5 was a pretty big disappointment, IMO.

Game wise Resident evil 5 easy and anyone who says otherwise didn't play it coop, Survival horror wise...Dead space....Resisdent evil isn't scary anymore but Dead space scares the bajesus out of me

I'm gonna say Dead Space since it was scarier, more fun and more original. However RE 5's co-op mode made this a pretty tough decision.

while RE5 was a lot of fun especially playing co op i have to say i'm disappointed cause RE5 could have been so much more. dead space on the other hand brought a fresh face to a stale genre. loved the strategic dismemberment the most.

Dead Space does win in controls & atmosphere, yes. I just found RE 5 more fun though, enough to make me play through it 3-4 times. So RE 5.Floppy_Jim

id say if your looking more for the online experiance then res5 is the better game for obvious reasons, but the story, chars., sound, even the visuals were better on dead space and thats without sacrificing one version for the others,

but personally i think dead space is more metroid then resident evil..... just with really really really freaky enemies and with a guy instead of a woman plus mining tools, and i guess more shooting then platforming but still more metroid then resident evil

RE5 is a last gen game with terrible controls,, horrid story and tacked on Co-Op,,,plus on top of all that it isnt even scary.

I def preferred Dead Space, although Ive never liked the RE games much.

It did remind me of metroid, it even had a similar 3d map screen. For some reason though I found it much harder to read than the one in metroid. I relied mostly on the "go this way" navagation line you can make appear.

just wanted to point out that I prefer Dead Space and I ONLY played RE 5 on co op cuz I only rented it to test out how much I liked it and got halfway through capaign on co op.

Dead Space. RE5 felt very stiff, rigid, and outdated by comparison.

I prefer playing games like that on my own.The only games I like to play multiplayer in is FPS.

I think Dead Space was the better game although I don't have anything negative to say about RE5. About the only thing I think RE5 had over DS was a nice amount variety in the scenery. The location DS takes place in really limited the game to a Doom-y set of metal hallways. If I made Dead Space I would have had the game abandon the ship and go to the planet about 2/3 of the way through the game instead of the very last level.FerdMertz

the good thing about being thre first game in the series (besides usually being the best) is that you can expand on the enviroments with a sequel...which is better then having to pay for more levels or *cough* a gameplaymodethatshouldhavebeentheretobeginwith *cough* :P

RE5 is fail all over I thought and dont really understand how it gets AAA scores places when it was just a prepackaged outdated RE4.

Never played it. Almost got Deadspace today though.

maybe if you had to be away from your partner for a long time and not just one person goes up a ladder and the other person stays on the ground and you join up again not even one minute later

I picked RE5 for the storyline, and I only played Deadspace demo and it was a bit to hard. Like piss me off hard. I don't like games where u have to move almost flawlessly.caseypayne69

RE5 was good, but not the god that RE4 was. More of the same, with even less horror elements just didnt cut it for me. Dead Space was definitely a very RE2 esque game IMO. Obviously it was alot more action packed, but the game just looked scary, and it felt intense to me. Now obviously its not as scary as RE2 was back in the day when i was 9 years old, and was scared to turn my PSX on cause the "Resident Evil" sound scared me. I watched the intro, and was like wtf how am i gonna last the night playing this game.

im saying that RE5 was terrible compared to the rest of the series.

Dead Space was more innovative and had a far better atmosphere and story, though it was repetitive and lacked much replay value.

RE5 was the opposite. It had a terrible story, atmosphere and last-gen gameplay, but at least it had a lot of replay value.
