I know there is alot of gushing fanboy love going around for this game now that these fantasically orchestrated trailers have been released. However, watching the gameplay of the game I can't help but feel wanting a few things, a little more. It's going to be fantastic no doubt, but I think a true step in survival horror is coming out next week. It looks and plays fantastic and it scares the pants off ya too. I don't know, after seeing some new res5 footage it doesn't look scary at all! It looks like an action game now, not horror. Sure there are zombies, what where it that creepy atmosphere, where is the alone in a world full of disturbing things and creatures. Now you play at noon in direct sunlight, the enemies are all over the place swarming you all the time..and co-op? That takes the alone feeling right out of the game. Re4 changed the pace of the game, but it at least was still creepy with atmostphere some puzzles and its still looked like a re game....re5 looks like one of those wii on rails actions shooters with better graphics, just having enemies spawing over all the time. When did re become just shooting? What happened to the exploration of the unknown. Small scares here and there that really scared you becasue you weren't expecting it like in re1 and re2...and the puzzles, where are they. Why are devs focusing on co-op? I don't know anyone in real life with a next gen console (pc and last gen sure) so I could really care less about co-op(maybe thats because i'm almost 30?). Does anyone else feel this way or is all you people want is to just shoot things over and over and over again...no thanks. I miss old re, at least silent hill has kept to its roots! SH5 is a blast, and creepy atmostpheric too..with a great story.world69star69

Let's hope Resident Evil 5 is Capcom's break out game for this generation, seeing as many of their current gen games (Lost Planet, Devil May Cry 4, Dead Rising) have been good, but nothing on the level of what they did last generation.

Personally, after hearing how the guys at Giantbomb said that the new controls just make the game work with all the TPS advancements that have been made (Gears of War, Uncharted), and not feel old and clumsy.

Personally one of my biggest quips after going back to play Resident Evil 4 was how clumsy the controls felt, like I had to fight against them, hearing that they've patched that up, is good news.

I agree on the graphics part. Devil May Cry 4 has, in my opinion, some of the best graphics this generation, possibly a top 3 game in terms of graphics.

Those trailers really, really look good in terms of graphics. Just look at the way Chris's muscles buldge. :P

so that means they haven't changed the formula really. not necessarily a bad thing but gs might knock down some points since re4 to re5 is a generation leap.

No. the game will be AAA for sure, even if it is copypasta. It has that vibe....no, not the same as Zelda TP, but THAT vibe, that it'll be AAA. Critics seem blatantly ignorant of Dragonball Z games when they score them AA even though the much of the time the game is EXACTLY the same as previous installments.

I disagree, with the exception of maybe DMC4. all those games were above good. Dead Rising, Zack & Wiki, Lost Planet and even Umbrella Chronicles.

You haven't played the game to even suggest such nonsense. Capcom have said their are elements to the game YET TO BE SHOWN, we haven't seen it all, the new control sheme is optional (a control sheme many games use, so capcom wanted a variety of people to be able to pick up and play) the normal controls are still there. the TC can say what he wants, we don't judge and rate something before its even out. you don't know what GS will give it. stop assuming things.

just because you prefer another game, doesn't make this game have a higher chance of scoring low.

Anyways I still think the game looks far too similar to RE4 from what we've seen so far and 8.5 wouldn't be so far fetched. Remember what happened to ZTP? Still has a great chance at AAA but it could swing both ways depending on how much the reviewer emphasizes this criteria.

And your last part about judging footage makes no sense. Everyone here is judging the game by the footage, including you i might add, otherwise we have nothing to go by. You just don't find my view favorable.
