Resident evil 9 rumors too good to be true?

According to the new rumor, Resident Evil 9 takes place four years after the events of Resident Evil Village, aka Resident Evil 8. And it will star Jill Valentine and Leon S Kennedy as the two main characters, with Barry Burton and Chris Redfield also returning as supporting characters.

Describing Jill Valentine, it is noted she is “dressed more tactically.” Providing an example, the rumor says the outfit is similar to Jill’s look in Resident Evil 5: Lost in Nightmares. However, physically she is described as looking similar to how she looks in Resident Evil: Death Island. Meanwhile, Leon apparently looks “much older,” complete with an outfit similar to his look in Resident Evil: Damnation.

The rumor then reveals what is supposedly the main plot of the game, which features Jill from BSAA and Leon from DSO investigating an island where the company who created Eveline resides. They are said to be creating mass clones of Eveline with the Megamycete, which will apparently infect both Jill and Leon at some point.

The plot features the return of Blue Umbrella and Rosemary Winters, the latter of which will be used to create a vaccine for the residents of the island via her blood. As for the island, some specific locations are disclosed: Abandoned Hospital, Caves, Abandoned Houses, Dark Forest, Abandoned Factory, Laboratory and a Temple.

As for enemies, they are said to be “evolved zombies” that are similar to Ganados in Resident Evil 4 in the sense that they can use melee weapons. The zombies are said to worship the moon, have a bunch of moon tattoos as a result, and often sing to it. Meanwhile, Leon is said to be stalked by a mysterious enemy throughout the game while Jill will be attacked by the Goatman. As for the antagonist, it is said to be a new character called Mr. Simon.

The final salient detail divulged by the rumor is that the game and its story will put a close to the Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village story with the Megamycete.

Really hope this rumor is true because its too good to be true. will be third person, Leon return, RE4 inspired enemies, set on island.

Jill Valentine was born in 1974. She is 24 in Resident Evil 1. Resident Evil Village is in 2021. Four years after will be 2025. Valentine will be 51. The rumor writes that Leon looks much older, but obviously Jill will still look young, because reasons. I'm an ageist. Just stop. Make new characters, and if none of them are liked, make a new series. Shitty story.

Never cared for Resident Evil stories and never played them for their stories. Still enjoyed many of the games.

Sounding great. I really enjoyed Resident Evil Village but definitely prefer the third person stuff. Can’t wait for the official reveal.

AFAIK Resident Evil 5 is their best selling one and RE 6 was a flop, which prompted a reboot of the series.

Can't believe 13 million people bought RE 4 on Gamecube 🤯

Pretty crazy, but I guess it's a combo of every GC owner getting the game, plus people getting a GC only for RE4. Game was massively hyped. Well deserved as it was one of the best games ever made.

Agreed, I knew I always wanted a gamecube. I missed a few Nintendo consoles but two times a year I saw my cousins and we always, I mean always played Mario Kart together with the four of us. Mario Kart DD was by far my favourite.

Eventually I too got a Gamecube, it was pretty late in the cycle, and I got a Double Dash pack in and RE 4 with what little money I had, safe to say I didn't really need more than those two.

@R4gn4r0k: MKDD was so fucking good. Played it with many friends, had tournaments and shit, probably have well over 1000 hours in that game. Even won a tournament on a game event when I was at my nerdiest some 15 or so years ago. Surprised me that I won since I only played it casually with friends, lol. Guess my opponents weren't the bestest. Did well in Smash Melee as well, had nearly perfected my Falco.

GC may not have had the biggest library (3rd party support was lacking, especially), but it had like 20 or so games that were really freaking good, in my opinion, and it's my favorite console because of it. Other consoles also had many great games. But not like GC, man. Not even SNES. 😲

Fk yeah my 2 fav RE characters finally featuring together! Tbh I like the RE1 Jill design better but I am warming up to the Remake jill and this will be the latest game chronologically featuring her since RE Revelation.

Also I really think Leon should settle down by end game. Dude done his part he has some absolutely crazy stories to pass down to his kids like surviving a zombie apocalypse slash nuclear explosion, help took down a country and even saved the president's daughter as a government agent!

So, no confirmation of the viewpoint then, guess I will wait for actual confirmation.

Well, their latest RE games that aren't remakes sucked. One can hope Capcom gets what's neat with RE, but it's definitely not a given.

But that's in hindsight, according to some reports, Capcom was expecting a huge boost in sales after RE4 and RE5, after 6 failed to meet expectations, they set RE7 to be a reboot because they saw RE6 as a failure ... yes, it has "good" numbers but that's probably on name alone rather than people loving the game.

Resident Evil is in a weird place with its characters. Jill, Chris, and Leon are all getting too old. Few other characters really land or are accepted when they're introduced.

Weaver should not have gotten a third Alien movie. But that's a whole other can of worms.

I don't know what to expect from RE anymore....feels like its been done to death. Spose its interesting but TLOU has it beat it terms of surival/gameplay. What im saying is that RE needs to die.......at least for a good while.
